I know how much my advice is worth, but I'll offer it anyway. You can put it in your diversionary treasure chest.

Did you mean to have both eyebrows slope the same way? Because when I cover up the right eye (that's on the left side of the picture) the left eye looks fine, but when I cover up the left eye, the right eye looks odd. It's brow looks angry, but the lower line (the cheek?) curves into a happier expresion that matches the left eye. If you made the right brow slope the other way (but not as steeply as the other brow), it'd look better.

But that's just tin-dubloon Phil's advice.

Love the treaters Celes! And the fire'E colors in the bird too!

Arlia, the difference in styles is slightly obvious.
The first one is withdrawn, vacant, not really sad but
the character projects a feeling of loss.
Your portrait is a bit lighter. Not in contrast but in mood.
It's more open and more personable. Mostly because of the eyes.

Also a good friend of mine sent me this for Halloween! She has
a fantastic story with a sci-fi bent brewing called Two Moons!

Gah! Okay, so I finally start turning out sketches I think I can be proud of (which will be up as soon as I convince my roomies to let me use their scanner) and then you people start with the coolness with the shading and other such things which are beyond my meager abilities. One day! One day I shall have victory!

a'righty folks, you'll be in for something completely new from me: An all digital sketch. Thats right, I drew up my star wars RP character entirely with my mouse (sans sith devotion tattoos 'cause those are a pain to draw with a mouse...and now he isn't a force adept/sith/sithlord/jedi or anything. 100% Pure Elite Trooper meat) I will have it posted probably on monday at the latest 'cause I don't have internet access for this weekend.

Okay, my journey of narcissism continues with my latest self portrait. I got a friend and Mr. John Cutting to help out with the outlines and I did the coloring myself. I think this one is adequate, but I want to make sure it doesn't look wierd like the last one. I want to make this the last attempt. I am tired of coloring myself.

*EDIT* Aw Crap... Don't tell me I used the same coloring scheme as RaiRai's old avatar. :stressed:
