I'll admit I did cry a bit (manly tears) when I read it.
You'd have a heart of stone not to.
Worst part is I must have read it 25times now and I still can't stop re-reading it. It feels like a funeral, except no one is giving out free food.
Edit: It's claimed Fighter didn't change while the other characters did...Fighter has clearly changed, he can read for a start.

Well I'm glad that leaving behind the half dozen plots left unfinished is official, I was starting to worry that I might have to care again all of a sudden. Lord knows how quickly my opinion is going to be ignored once I say anything negative about anything Brian does ever, but hey.

The art was good save for the fact that everyone felt the need to have the same stupid grin on their face at all times, jokes even KIND of resembling 8-Bit are nonexistent right up until BM entered the picture (the only one who couldn't do the whole "close your eyes and smile like a buffoon" thing, coincidence?), characterization for RM and even WM sort of vanished into thin air and instead of showing any of the after-math of any of the dozens of interesting sub-plots we got to see RM doing something pointless, BM and Fighter being together because... well because, and Thief being the most boring Elven king ever. That and the whole "Let us kill all the plot threads that have been hinted from the start of this thing at the very last moment" thing I mentioned.

Oh well, at least MSPA is still good.

I don't think I can think of a plot thread that hasn't been resolved in some way. Which ones do you mean?

Well I assume that's the ending of 8-Bit. I really loved the ride and been reading ever since I was a lil' kiddo about 5 years ago. 'I like swords' turned into my own catchphrases and infact every game I play I am all about the swords (in L4D2 I shoot fuckers who steal my katana.) Thank you for the most fun webcomic I have ever read and will now say my goodbye.
Warbot appears to inregular and HKYM I just couldn't get into it.
You might not really have gotten to know me, but that's because I am one of those silent watchers. Farewell Nuklearpower it was a long fun ride <3

The Dark God's plan was to get Black Mage to overload himself with magic energy to become a portal for Chaos, Dr. Swordopolis' plan was to have Fighter kill Black Mage before that could happen. But neither one worked because Black Mage and Fighter are morons, so Sarda ended up being the one. You could certainly say all that could have been made clearer in the comic, but then again someone got it and Brian just confirmed it, so there's that.

The Trickster God just did what Trickster Gods do, try to outwit people, but failed because Thief is too crafty. That's all. Megahedron may have been an actual deity or a hallucination. That was the entire point of his appearances.

Enlightened Warrior prophecy, fair enough. I can only guess it's part of the whole Swordopolis plan or something. Regardless though: how much could an epilogue possibly have explained, or how? Best I can think of is something like one of those after-the-credits scenes they love so much in mainstream movie production, and 8BT strikes me as the wrong place to look for that sort of thing.

I could have sworn at some point the Trickster God and Darko where shown to be in cahoots, but god knows I am far too lazy to ever look that up, so I'll simply concede the Gods and Avatars bit. As for the Enlightened Warrior thing, there are a lot of ways to destroy the world in just 8 panels, let alone a whole epilouge.

"Destroying the world in an absurdly short time-span" got old after the fifth time it was implied.

Well, that's an interesting plot I never actually noticed the background to. Makes a lot of sense, however. Although it probably was addressed, what happened to the Mindflayer/C'thulu cult?

The failure to do so however, that horse stayed alive for years.

A member of them was seen in the background of the Epilogue, apparently dead.
