In his first extensive interview since the grand jury decided not to indict Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson, McCulloch said he had no regrets about letting grand jury members hear from non-credible witnesses.

“Early on I decided that anyone who claimed to have witnessed anything would be presented to the grand jury,” McCulloch said. He added that he would've been criticized no matter his decision.

During the interview, McCulloch referenced a woman who claimed to have seen the shooting.

This “lady clearly wasn't present,” McCulloch said. “She recounted a story right out of the newspaper,” backing up Wilson's version of events.

If this is supposed to be a counter-point to the overwhelming display of the systematic racial oppression of the police state of America, it isn't really working.


it is horrible, and the complete wrong thing to be doing in the wake of these murders, but this is hardly representative of the message and the movement ongoing, and not something that it has encouraged and condoned in the pursuit of justice.

Well I mean when the police are a violent street gang who can murder innocent unarmed people without consequence and the government will support and defend that yeah there's probably gonna be some folks who fight back.

IMO nobody deserves to be murdered but maybe if Good Cops don't want to be retaliated against by civilians for the crimes of their coworkers they should actually start reporting the crimes of all the other police officers. Yeah, they'll probably lose their jobs since altho many allege "good cops" the majority being one costs you your job, but if you aren't willing to lose your job to call out the racists, abusers, and murderers you work with maybe you aren't all that good.

I -guess- if you ignore all the context of the situation at hand and somehow twist the oppressors around to somehow being the victims of the oppressed it could sound like that, but that would be completely disingenuous.

I mean 'If you murder and subjugate people, you have to expect them to fight back in whatever ways they can' is nowhere at all equal to 'She had it coming, look what she was wearing' and the suggestion of comparison is fucking gross.

Well I mean technically I was victim blaming but I kinda doing it for a reason and to make a point about the blaming of Mike Brown for his own death that happened earlier in this thread, tho it's less victim blaming in the case of the cops since yeah the cops are an organization that oppresses people on racial axis and doesn't hold its own accountable for abuses of power, and the argument of the existent of Good Cops really is just an argument that "Well, they treated ME nice" or "The ones I know outside their job are pleasant!" and doesn't account for the complicity of the Good Cops in everything wrong about the institution.

All that said, the person who killed the officers killed his GF first so people blaming the protests for this PROBABLY just want an excuse to blame the protests.
