The thing that made me scratch my head was "I cant believe a shikai like this exists", why is that so hard to believe? Compared to many of the ones we have seen this doesn't seem all that unusual. She even noted there are ones similar. Yea its not exactly the same but the ones you compared it to aren't exactly the same as any other either

Okay, the last anime with a fight whose power was that what he imagines happens, from A Certain Magical Index, had him get defeated by believing the person he was fighting was a monster because said person put up a facade of shrugging off attacks for long enough for him to believe the person was a monster.

You may remember that not giving a fuck about getting hit is Zaraki's modus operandi.

I do love that series, or two series since it parallels another. But I think Zaraki is abit different. For one he really does shrug off attacks. There has to be some limitation to the power though.

It's quite obvious really. Yachiru has always been child like and her shikai was child like. The enemy is also very young and has a child like power and to drive home the point you get cookie bones.

For some reason Kubo insists that relatively important battles are either between people with similar powers where one person initially has the upper hand then gets curb stomped to show how awesome the opponent really is or the worst match up possible for the good guy/gal who wins anyway proving how awesome they are. The first case always results in someone way more awesome coming to the rescue.

That made me wonder, Kubo is pretty aware of the "tell you my power" trope. Gin and Aizen flat out lied about their's, Ichigo kept his mouth shut, ect. Often when someone reveals too much about their power too quickly it either comes back to bite them or there is more too it. My theory is this guys power relies on the possibility entering the other persons mind.

Look at how he leads Yachiru and how he words it. "you imagined it too" following up that then all her bones would be cookie and then she collapses. Not before as if it happened then he confirmed it.

While typing this I just realized how awesome it would be if he fought Captain Calvinball
