42PETUNIAS sat in the Inn of the Last Home with a glazed over look in his eyes. People around him enjoying their drinks were eyeing him suspiciously. Suddenly he shouted out VOTE: NEWB! VOTE: B_real_shadows! VOTE: Fenriswolf! He kept shouting out random names until one person yelled "Will someone shut him up?" The cook walked out from the kitchen and threw a potato at him, hard. It smashed him in the side of the head and 42PETUNIAS, mentalist controlled, town alligned fell to the floor, dead. An onlooker picked up the "potato" and said "Hey Vern this aint a potato, it's a rock". Vern the cook just stood there with a blank look on his face.

On the other side of town, a shady man wearing dark robes felt a sharp pain in his head. "So he's dead..." he muttered as he walked away...

Mr. Bookworm was walking home to his family after a long day at his blacksmith shop. It was nearly pitch dark so he hurried to get home. He spied his usual shortcut through a back alley. He ducked in and rushed onwards. Halfway through a man stepped in front of him. As he stopped two men showed up behind him. "Whats going on he-" Mr. Bookworm started before the men ripped into him with their weapons. Mr. Bookworm, solace citizen, town alligned fell to the ground dead. The second man said "I wonder why number 4 didn't want to come?" The third said "He's probably getting drunk..."

Meanwhile at a shady bar at ground level two men were happily drinking mugs of dwarven ale and sharing stories. One of the men said "You know? I killed someone last night. Just over near the town centre. He was running to something, but i knew better. He's was working for Chemosh." The other man said "Really? In this town?" The first man said "Yeah, isn't it funny how even in a place like this, the taint of Chemosh is felt. In fact, i'm pretty sure you have been tainted too." The second man looked shocked, "What makes you sa-" but he didn't finish before the first man whipped a knife at his neck. Barrel Hating Sycophant, Beloved of Chemosh, mafia alligned was dead before his head hit the table. The first man pulled a small bag of coins out of BHS's coat pocket and whipped it towards the barkeep. "Keep the change" he muttered as he left.

As day broke, Nikose got up out of bed and started off towards the Guard's barracks to suit up for work. On his way he thought he heard a buzzing sound . He started looking around but saw nothing. He walked for another 5 minutes all with this buzzing near his ear. He whipped around really fast and saw this weird flying animal type thing around his head. All of a sudden it started shouting really loudly "HEY, EVERYONE LOOK AT NIKOSE! LOOK AT THIS GUY..."

I was thinking of how to react to the Nikose thing, I suspect voting may be in order soon, it may be some kind of downside for one of the scummy, (or perhaps not scummy), roles.
By the way, how did our vig become God?

Well I was right about Barrel-hater being mafia. Ok seems like the time is right, Roleclaim: The Lieutennant. I just got last nights investigation results and Nikose is the Cult Leader. Vote: Nikose

Oh man, if that doesn't sound like being controlled by the mentalist, I don't know what does.

You're gonna have to convince me that it's actually you saying this before I'm going to follow your vote.

Otherwise, I see it as this:

1. Mentalist takes you over.
2. You roleclaim and then accuse Nikose.
3. We all lynch Nikose.
4. Nikose turns out to be something else.
5. We all get angry and retaliate.
6. You're not scum, just somebody under control, and we've killed somebody who was innocent.

I don't like that sequence of events, personally.

Somebody convince me it's something other than that.

The Mentalist: The mentalist is a player who has complete control over another player's votes. That player can't vote without the mentalist's permission. The controled player will have no knowledge of who the mentalist is. The mentalist MUST change the player he/she controls every night. When the mentalist changes players, the GO will roll a d4. If the GO rolls a 1, the mentalist dies. If 2 -4, the mentalist goes on to the next player. The mentalist wins when he, and the player he's controling are the only players left(note: the controled player at the end does NOT win).

maybe because the mentalist only controls votes?
edit: and I think its best to get rid of the cult early. Besides i'm just masons with the sherrif he can still investigate people if I die.
edit2: and if I were being control I could justify a vote against nikose without claiming to be the lieutennant

Odd how it doesn't mention anything about anything other than votes. I believe the reason CC's roleclaiming this early is because the sooner we get rid of the cult leader, the better (and besides, the lieutenant isn't the one who investigates anyway, so it's not that great a loss if he's night killed).

Why, you ask? I think he's the mentalist. Newb correctly analyzed 42 as the mentalist-controlled townie. And his super-awesome role-decipher powers failed miserably.

Either that, or he's a mafiate.

Or I'm wrong, but I'm feeling pretty confident with this.

Oh, Nikose has been accused. I think he is not the cult leader, 'cause I haven't been inducted yet. He likes to mason with me and given the opportunity to do so, he would.
