And when Izanagi chops his lyre to bits before he plays, Orpheus is screwed, goodbye no fighty fight skills.
So what, Izanagi starts the battle with Orpheus' lyre on a chopping block? Music is ranged, and handily omnidirectional.

And really, why is Izanagi just going to run in and smash/stab/chop the lyre to bits? He doesn't know Orpheus. And hell, even if he did, why bother? Izanagi's not that bad of a guy, and Orpheus isn't a direct threat to his life. He doesn't have a particular hate on for musicians, and honestly, he and Orpheus went through pretty similar experiences with their respective wives, so they might get along. If it's "just 'cause" for the sake of a hypothetical fight, he's still got no reason to deduce that Orpheus' music is that good. On the other hand, what spears do is fairly straightforward - although Izanagi's spear in particular can also do things like swirl chaos into matter, but that's beside the point (hyuk hyuk).

To be fair, I think Orpheus was on the Argo, so he can probably fight. It's just that any fighting talent he has is totally negligble when measured against the power of his music. Not to mention useless against a god, although I don't recall Izanagi being a big time warrior beyond the necessary. The main stories I read about him are his early ones though, wherein his most impressive feat was fucking up his own wedding. Still, he went through the underworld himself.

As for Weylands competance, well, they failed to actually secure a Xenomorph on at least 3 separate occasions, so their competance is debatable.
I was always impressed by the troops apparently equipped to deal with xenomorphs at the end of Alien Cubed.

The Company has a lot more ressources available to them: see also easy space travel.

I think according to some versions of the legend, Orpheus charmed Hdaes himself with his music. Not sure if that's right, though.

From what I can remember is that Hades was charmed and said to Orpheus that he can have his wife back but until he reaches the surface he is not allowed to look back at her.

Commander Shepard vs Audie Murphy.

Both are equipped with state of the art N7 armor and weapons.

If you think it makes a difference: different battle scenario for Adept/Infiltrator/Soldier/Vanguard/Engineer/Sentinel.

As totally awesome as Mass Effect is, I mean... dude. That little dude was like a walking incarnation of death. He had script immunity in real life.

Murphy did it without saving, so he wins.

In response to the VERY OLD Ent vs. Exdeath argument from page 26;
Ents are very slowly riled, but can tear down stone walls very quickly once they do. But, tehy are flammable.

Exdeath knows many spells, Firaga, which is a fire elemental spell, among htem.

Here's how I think it would go, but for evne ground, it'd be hte Forest of Moore.

Ent; *walking in forest, sees Exdeath* hmm?
Exdeath: FIRAGA!
Ent: !? *incinerated, lighting forest on fire*
Exdeath: Now to destroy those meddling warriors...
Meanwil, some distance away in the same forest.
Moogle: KUPO! *helping FF5 party escape hte flames*

I only know 3 of those characters, so....

Golbez: He controlls Kain while being controlled himself, also, it took 2 Meteors to take him out over the entire game (EVEN MORE if you get ridiculously overlevelled at the very start.)

Exdeath: Destroyed 4 crystals. WHILE they were sealing him. He then tricked the FF5 party into breaking the seal on the other set, and he broke them after getting pwned in his castle. He had also attained limited power of the Void beorehand, which is revealed IF you open that empty chest that triggers Gilgamesh battle 4. Also, Grand Cross. I don't see any of the other characters wearing ribbons + Angel Rings, so they're screwed.

Here's only a PARTIALLY FF themed comparison.

Terra vs. Sonic. who has hte better transformation? I doubt it's fair, considering Sonic has a total of 4 different transformations now (SUper originated in Sonic 2, Hyper was just an extra for S3&k. Then there's Darkspine and Werehog.)
Feel free to pick ONE form for Sonic, though I'd personally go with Hyper. but I'm leaving you a choice out of the 4. Please specify which Sonic transformation you're using in the argument.
Garland: He fails to knock down the FF1 party, and THEY only have a max hp of 999, maxing out at 3996, as opposed to 39996 for Exdeath, and 49995 for Golbez (you actually had 5 character parties in FF4. FF1 had a constant 4 character party, and FF5 had a maximum party size of 4.) Sure, you'd have to be hihgly overlevelled in any game other than 1 to achieve max HP (depending on the characters in the party in 4, and the current jobs in 5.)
