I'm starting to think that this all comes down to Bilious Slick's ultimate design including a satanic figure in the infinite multiverse. Given the wonky time shit dealing with multiple universes, the fact that he exists at all can potentially mean he exists in every universe (or at least everyone within an alpha timeline) even if he is both born and destroyed within the span of this story. Pretty much what I was thinking about Lord English before, but I think this makes a bit more sense of it. With these two sessions, assuming Lord English is brought to an end within the story, Slick effectively causes the beginning and ending of his antithetical character at the same point, which seems to me like the sort of elegance God would use.

Edit: Of course it probably all comes down to Bilious Slick's ultimate design no matter WHAT happens, so this isn't exactly a revelation.
