It's free if you have an ATI (Dunno about Nvidia users, maybe they also get it for free) video card. Mine's an ATI and I got it free. Alien Swarm is free and has multiplayer.

Today was fun, we finished Cold Stream! After having one survivor spawning OUTSIDE of the safe house and having a Boomer save me from a Smoker. I was behind without any hope for help but, the Boomer was there

Yup, his (her? I didn't get to see my savior) explosion freed me from the Smoker's grip. I'd say that Coach saved me but, he got stupid and didn't try to shoot the Smoker >_>. When Mauve saw me, she was like "how did you get free?"

Last night, we briefly had 14 players online in steam group chat. New record. Yaaaaaay.

EDIT: How would you guys like to make plans for a few of our better players to get together one night and do all the Expert campaign achievements? It would mean we can get through stuff a lot of people have a really hard time with on public groups and the more casual players won't have to deal with us competitive assholes.
