well... in terms of best ever it'd have to be most recognizable, i'm gonna say what i think are at least most recognizable, and my faves.
most recognizable: smoke on the water hotel california whole lotte love purple haze layla cocaine we will rock you (i guess you could call the beat a "riff" but the solo is sick) la grange free falling are you gonna be my girl bad to the bone dream on walk this way my personal faves(not gonna repeat the most recognizable b/c they're also my faves): glorious day tyler shook me all night long everlong babe, i'm gonna leave you who do you love cold hard bitch green light girl back in black and if you have to ask "who are these people?" "Sweet Child of Mine" by Guns and Roses has some really good guitar riffs, especially towards the end.
The Minibosses' rendition of "Big Blue" from the F-Zero games has some crazy riffing of the electric guitars. Just because I'm curious, what makes a guitar riff so good, in you guys' opinion? FOr me, having some great drumming in the background always helps, especially with high-energy songs.
