Even if it's coming it doesn't mean that anyone is actually looking at/for it.

Not even joking.
Hell, I'm more excited for this than FFXIII.

Signed up for the Beta. Not actually excited about it/don't actually care about it, but I got free time for awhile, yet, and I enjoyed beta testing Champions Online, so why wouldn't I enjoy this, too?
I totally lied about how long I played WoW for, though. I said it was longer. 'cause I want a key.

So, yep! There's people that crazy out there. "Most highly anticipated of all time" is probably stretching it though. Just a tad. Last edited by MasterOfMagic; 12-18-2009 at 05:53 AM. |

Also we gotta figure some way to let each other know who's who when we're playing the beta without destroying the NDA, assuming more than one of us gets in.
So's I don't end up grouped with one of you all day while completely ignoring you between every mission expecting you to leave ('cause that's usually how things go, but I never leave group just in case people feel like sticking around), only to find out at the end of the night you're an NPFer who found me on purpose, which left me feeling kind of like a dick.

I hope this game doesn't suck like FFXI. I wasted 2 years of my life playing that game, and it just had to start getting better and less annoying with EXP and quests when I start college, so no free time to play it. I hope FFXIV won't be a soul-sucker like FFXI was. I'm both skeptical and a bit exicted about "no experience" and how it relies on weapons and skills. However, two main things about this worry me.
1) It's an MMO. Taking the grind out of an MMO is like taking the organs out of your little sister. It dies. 2) FFII tried this and we all saw how well that went. |

#2 is workable. The main issue FF2 had with weapon proficiency was that it forced you to work on a bunch of different types or it wouldn't let you advance, so there was no specializing. Also, it had the bad idea of lowering "opposite" stats when anything grew, which pretty well defeats the purpose of growing, or else it would have been a pretty good natural progression system given the original hardware. That and the spells were a pain to level up. Fix those issues and you're set. Really, what with jobs, though, I'd say it's really closer to FF3 or 5.

In all fairness, I didn't even notice that this wasn't the FFXIII thread until now.
Stupid roman numerals.

I signed up for it, played enough FFIX to have a feel for what I'm bringing myself into. I'll be fine with it as long as they don't re-implement de-leveling again.

Semi-related: Character Creation is looking to be a fuckton better than 11.
Also, boob slider... maybe. |
