White Mage's statement regarding this? "I'm God, I just willed Chaos dead, and then I altered how causality works, proving Sarda's depressing view wrong". The end.

Pure joy

And except it also never will because White Mage doesn't have any more influence on the universe than anyone else, and this time I'm too lazy to dig up Brian's quote. :p

Considered how OOC White Mage's dialogue was in my 'theory', I took it for granted that it'd be recognized as the parody it was.
... But now I kinda want it to happen. Aside from the sucking part. :-P

This hearkens back to the disturbing idea that our existences are not our own, and there's no such thing as choice, and it's very depressing. ... But I'm not trying to start that discussion again, I participate in that discussion enough on LOST forums. In any event, I'm sure 8BT won't end too depressing or soul-crushingly bleak, since Brian would never want to depress his readers. ::Cue laughter:: Thank you, I'm here all week.

How could it end bad? The Light Warriors die? Well, they're horrible people so the world just got saved from many attrocities. Black Mage finally kills everyone? The comic's underdog just won, it'd probably end up on TVTropes crowning moment of awesome page. White Mage dies? She deserves it fo forcing people to do as she thinks they should and responding with violence or kinapping when they don't. Chaos wins? The 8-bit world sucks anyway (in the sense of living there would suck).
Let's face it, no matter how the comic ends some significant group of readers willbe happy. Anyone who can't deal with constant anti-climaxing likily wouldn't still be reading this far in. Hell, weren't the last few fake outs met with overall praise?
