On the subject of video game movies, I think the Wachowski brothers should direct a Mega Man one where it goes all side-scrolly for parts and have all the music be guitar versions of Mega Man 2's music.

You do realize that's exactly the kind of mindset that brought us the Doom movie, right?

If anyone were to make a Mega Man movie, I can't see anyone taking it seriously without some radical chainsaw surgery or just making it based on the X series.

The FPS part of the Doom movie was the only good part. Besides, the W Bros. are responsible for the best acid trip I've watched EVER.

On the topic of making video game movies not suck, I feel like a Mario Bros movie could work if it were a musical tragedy about the struggle of the working class.

Thats why I actually like Roger Ebert...He has stated that he tends to critique movies based on the likely audience...he said something to the effect that "the people who are going to watch The Piano are not the same people that are going to watch Die Hard, and I try to keep that in mind, and think about what each group would be looking for."
