My favorite urban legend would have to be that Mr. Rogers was a Marine sniper. WRONG! He was just a very cool, very (in the good way) religious kind of guy who wanted to make everyone feel special. R.I.P. (Seriously.) The Wandering God |

I didn't realize that I had to be a thread Nazi AND anal. Now I get it. Of course, he was probably referring to myths surrounding videogames. Like, "to revive Aeris (omg spoilerz) you must first master every materia in the game, then go to the crater after the game, and battle Neo-Ultra-Super-Sephiroth." I imagine the example given was because few people know if the game really had a different cover or not. Like how it would be pretty sweet if there was a screenshot of General Leo being in the party. (Which I just made up. Seriously. Not gonna happen. Nope. Not even in the GBA port.) The Wandering God Last edited by The Wandering God; 05-29-2007 at 09:17 AM. |

Ah, but to get Cloud's Gunblade all you must do is go through the Golden Saucer Arena Challenge 40 times and then fight the hidden "??? Weapon", this also unlocks his final Limit Break, "Cherry Blossom"!
The internet is (or was) full of such tom-foolery rumors. The above was an example of a fake one some of my friends at an internet forum made up in order to attempt to spread throughout the internet several years ago; they even had doctored pics of Cloud's status screens. Anyway, something I'm not sure of: is the exact center of the Earth a zero-grav environment? (provided you were not burnt to a crisp by the molten rock)

According to the laws of gravity, if you were at the exact center of the Earth, you would not be affected by gravity in the usual sense. Basically, instead of air pushing down on top of you to determine your weight, it would be one hella hot core. But, do not fear. Because you are at the center of the earth, all the mass around the earth is being attracted to your center. Unfortunately, if you aren't made up of materials as strong as the earth's core or as condensible, you would be crushed.
So, to answer your question, yes, the absolute center of the earth would be a zero-grav environment when applying Newton's laws of physics. The area around any center mass is always pulling inward, however. The only reason our core isn't made of some kind of super-condensed solid by now is because an object having force applied to it will respond with an equal amount of force. Basically, this means an object pushes back with equal force, modified by the object's chemical makeup. It is because of this condensing effect, however, that many geologists believe that the earth has a solid, rather than a liquid core. You would be so incinerated, though. I'm personally interested in the sightings of lizard men. Such sightings could be the creation of alcohol, but there are quite a few of them. I remember a fairly good paranormal info site had a lot on them, including quite a few articles on the matter. It certainly would be a biological discovery if they were real, but people under the influences of certain hallucinogenic drugs have seen them. Granted, unlike the other sightings, those lizard men aren't hell bend on killing people.

Well you would still be effected by the sun and other planets.
I drew a pretty picture of space-time today. It was blue AND green! |

Yes, but they're far away enough that they would have very little effect on you, the immediate presence of those heavy tons of rock would have a much greater effect. Since you're getting pulled the same amount of force from each side, you wouldn't be moving.
But, yes, the sun and other planets would have an effect on the planet's movement as a whole. I was thinking he meant zero-grav as in "Can I floatz now lol?" Quote:
