I dunno, I guess I had my expectations of it a bit too high, and was a tad dissapointed...

Every time I heard anything about Saint Seiya it's in Spanish or Italian. 3: Rahxephon did look interesting, but I haven't seen it. Slayers is funny, I just didn't feel like sitting through, what, 75 episodes of it? Maybe someday. Steamboy wasn't that good. It was okay... I don't know what all the hype was about, though. Didn't really like the tie-in at the end. Maybe I was just let down because I expected something better. Quote:
Azumanga Daioh doesn't really have a plot, it's just the hilarious interactions of some weird characters. ...well, for being adapted from a bunch of 4-panel comic strips, it has a pretty good plot, but still. |

For the record, I hate Azumanga Daioh almost as much as I hate Lucky Star and Death Note. But I second The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Escaflowne and FLCL. Quote:
CARDCAPTOR SAKURA. No playin' fo real, blood. That is what it motherfucking comes down to. CARDCAPTOR SAKURA. I mean you know, play around with those, test things out, see what's what. Then, when you're done fucking around -- CARDCAPTOR SAKURA. Last edited by Regulus Tera; 03-07-2008 at 06:02 PM. |

I'd third (or fourth?) Cowboy Bepop. I could argue that it is the greatest of its kind. I mean come on.
I'd also third FLCL. Six episodes of distilled awsome. And yet again, CARDCAPTOR SAKURA. On another note, go see Kino's Journey. I still have to go see it (Seen several episodes.). Hell the English dub isn't too bad. (That says a lot.) Lastly, I'd suggest Chrono Crusade. Watch the first few episodes and see if you like it. If you do, continue, and if not stop then and there. It can really bog down. Though it has it's moments.

Actually I'd like to change my suggestions:
Anything but Captain Tsubasa and Patlabor. Both try their genres too hard and become either boring or too over the top. ( I have no idea what's the translation used, but in the Brazilian dub the "chute canhão" ( Cannon Kick ) and any episodes revolving around it are just plain awful. It's a kick that even if the goalkeeper gets the ball it will keep spinning in his hands. ) Cardcaptor Sakura is awesome and everyone should watch it. |

Expecting realism in anime is a bit oxymoronic, to be fair. Quote:
