Just sleeping
|
My tire blew on Friday night while I was commuting back home. Fortunately, my Dad lives near where my tire blew. Unfortunately, the snow kept everything closed until Monday, and I couldn't get a replacement tire until today. So I've been stuck in a house I've never lived in with no books, no internet, and no beer for five days. I've been pretty miserable, NPF.
Oh, and when I tried shoveling the drive there, the combination of doing nothing for a few days, suddenly eating nothing but "organic" hippie crap, and the blinding light from the snow gave me a migraine so intense that I spent the next 24 hours in the can throwing up. Couldn't even get any exercise. Good times.

You think Lake Erie gives bad lake effect? Try being SURROUNDED ON ALL SIDES BUT SOUTH BY FUCKING LAKES! LAKE ERIE? FUCK THAT, TRY LAKE MICHIGAN!
Seriously, it's no fun. On an unrelated note, aside from the frosting of my car window each morning, my only problems driving stem from out of state fuckers driving without their lights on. People, in Michigan, you HAVE to drive with your lights on. I will punch you in the face if you don't. |

Lake Michigan's lake effect snow could be pretty intense around Chicago. One would assume that the area would be better prepared for winter weather since it happens every year. :p
Here in MO, we've gotten a few inches, but most of it has melted off, then froze over. I hate ice. I hate salting the steps and sidewalks, too, but I hate falling on my butt more. |

We got about 8 inches with this last noreaster that blew through. Long Island, D.C., and South Jersey all picked up the brunt with around 26 inches. And it officially confirmed D.C. is a southern state because they had absolutely no clue what to do about all the damn snow. Up here we have all that cleared by the next morning, rarely do our schools ever get more than a two hour delay. One thing I used to hate about how efficient our plows are.
I also hate how up here, when one drop of precipitation hits the pavement, everyone and their mother forgets how to drive. Three major highways and two interstates near me were shut down because of accidents, and that was two Sundays ago, when all we had was a layer of ice. On the police scanner it sounded like Mad Max. I've never actually heard the words "war zone" come over the bands before.

We have about 5 cm right now.
This is fucking bullshit. We're usually at 20, 30 cm by this time of year. Where's my god-damn snow?! Also: we get snow in April. Or sometimes May. Had a huge April blizzard quite a while back, nearly flooded the town. Had snow over May long weekend this year. That's fucking fun, getting suited up to go kayaking and seeing it snow. Still went, though. Worth it for sure. I want more snow!

Ooooh, the metric system! How incredibly crazy, and illogical! 1000 units to one larger unit? Where's the sense in that!
Also, it's, like, 30 degrees Celsius (because fuck you, Farenheit), but that's just Australia. We're crazy here. |
