If one had a revolution every time corruption showed up, the US would be no better off than those third-world nations where the lifespan of the sitting government is measured in months at best. And then you would eventually end up where the revolutions have been corrupted and it's a power-mad free-for-all.
Sounds like we'd be worse-off with that. As for Nique's options at the beginning, I actually think a twisted version of #2 will end up happening. #1 and #3 just end up looping in on each other leading to a cycle that will never end or will end when an outside force decides to end it.

You mentioned 1984, but this'd be worse. You see, in 1984 you only have televisors tracking your every move. Whereas in real life you actually have hordes of internet users volunatarily blaring out their every action, thought and emotion for everyone to see.
I speak of twitter. Other than that, this thread disappoints me. I was hoping it'd be a call to arms, a call for all users to rise up against the fascist-capitalist oppressors and finally create the utopia that would have been the People's Forum of Nuklear Power. With double socialism. |

We already tried making a country once. . . not that I'd mind if we followed through on it. :3

And why the hell shouldn't we? While I may have...'plans,' I'm not completely adverse to the idea of all of us banding together to take over the country, then dividing it up according to personal preferences.
In fact, let's! Except for Mac. Crazy canuck.

Taking over the country is made difficult by the fact that NPFers are in many different countries. So really, the best choice is to just take all of them. Or at least all of them that matter.

The only country that matters, ever, is Kenya. The rest is unnecessary details.
And Thadius, whenever I see your post color I get the impression that you're either a ghost, communicating with the world of the living through eldritch whispers, or that this post was made with your dying breath. |
