The deathtrap does have windows, so it's possible that RM saw the turtle and decided to alert BM and Fighter to the danger at hand.

By the way, does anyone have any theories on what Thief and WM are doing at this time?

I imagine that White Mage is doing something outside of the sub, while Thief is doing something inside of the sub.

Is that an adamantoise? It's not from FF1. I'm thinking it's an adamantoise from FF3j.

EDIT: Well, I did some research, and it's a monster called (quite ironically) a Land Turtle.

RM probably invented that feat himself, twink that he is. In fact, the turtle probably REALLY took them completely unaware and destroyed their airsub...but in their final moments, RM had the brilliant idea of having Thief steal RM's character sheet from the past, altering it to include the Smelling Turtles feat, and return it to the past so that when the giant sea (land) turtle came after them, RM's new retroactively applied feat would warn them by way of temporal paradox.

In fact, that sort of thing could explain so much of Red Mage's mind-bending "physics." Gotta love RM!:rmage:

I blame out of character knowledge for RM bieng able to smell the turtle! We all know he cheats when he thinks God isn't looking! And it seems to me that Fighter has been "educated" quite often by the way he speaks.
