Actual scythechucks would be too large to use. Kamachucks would be more plausible. Actually, they might already exist. I know some versions have a chain attached, but I can't seem to remember if anything were on the other end. Kamas are often used in pairs, though.

Or would you mean sicklechucks? A sickle is that crescent-shaped hand blade, but many people get them confused, no offense.

Even though nobody in 8-BT uses an axe (Fighter-only weapon), Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos had an enemy called Hachucks, which were a pair of possessed hatchets connected by a chain.

Tio from Grandia 2 uses what they translated as "rings." Actually, if you look at them on field maps (as in, before you pick them up), they're connected by a tether. It just doesn't appear in battle sequences, likely for rendering and collisions purposes. This is also somewhat indicated by they way she moves in her Lotus Flower attack.

Wacky weapons might also include anchorchucks in that vein. GGX and FF8 both have people with anchors.

Knives are generally too light, unless you've got a really good serrated or razor edge, and then you only have one side you can cut with. Otherwise, you'd be hitting them with the back or flats. And frankly, the flats have the best chance due to larger surface area. Aside from that, you'd probably have to swing them hard enough to be anywhere near effective that your own motions would need to be wide and violent, increasing your own chances of accidentally grabbing or being hit by your own blades, considering the general lack of a sufficient guard and the proportion of the blade to the handle. A knife blade would work better on the end of a whip, but that's off-topic.

For those not inclined to read my block:

Knife chucks:
-too light
-low chance of blade edge hitting
-bad blade-to-handle proportion

FF wepons ideal for chucking? Perhaps arrow-chucks? Imagine the bow required to fire that? Maybe Masamune-chucks, like sword-chucks only better!

Well, since there is only one Masamune, perhaps we could attach Atmaweapon to Masamune and make 'OMGWTF-chucks'

Oh, another one with a modern feel: Pepper-spray-chucks!

On Grandia - (Playing 3 myself) Perhaps 'card-chucks'? Or maybe 'mace-chucks'? Can only imagine the combo-possibilities there.

No, I meant scythechucks, and seeing as how this thread began with chainsawchucks I don't see how they can be any less plausible in terms of size and weight.

And I know the difference between scythes and sickles.

And lets not forget that you can add the word "vibro" to most of the bladed weapons, for added attack power.

Well, I prefer chain, it being more metal then rope. Can't remember the power levels but I'm quite sure that in most games the combination would be unmatched.

But on the other hand, I have different fingers. (as I have yet to play FF8,9,10,10-2,11,12,or 13.)

Well, hate to stop the chain, perhaps the most vile weapon Man-kind has yet to witness:

Cell-phone-chucks.
It's more annoying then Barney the Purple Dinosaur singing a round with Dora the Explorer while moonwalking to the ending-theme from Lamb-chops Play-a-long.

Perhaps even that was too much.
