Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
|
Clayton’s killer, Arturo Smythe, searched the city in shadow. His hand was planted in his coat pocket, and it curled around the handle of his dagger. His target this night was proving elusive. Artutro licked his lips. This made it all the sweeter. Every house in the city was filled, but none seem to contain his quarry. He even investigated basements accessible by outer doors, and the occasional storm shelter. Nothing.
After two hours of tiresome searching, Arturo pounded a wall in frustration. “Damn! Hiding, eh? Well, we’ll see if you’re so clever later on, my old friend. Yes.” ---- Dexter Caulfield sat on his porch, drinking and waving around his loaded crossbow. He accidentally pulled the trigger, and the bolt arched into the sky. Luckily it clattered to the ground harmlessly, but a look of horror crossed the old man’s face and he retreated into his home. ---- Ashley Bellaux approached the garden. Just as planned, a man stood in the center, admiring the fountain. “Hello, and welcome to the Rebellion.” The man turned around. “You talk far too loudly.” He smirked. Ashley took a step back. “Hector!” “It’s been too long, my lady.” “What the hell are you doing here?” “Language, miss.” Her hand began creeping to the hem of her skirt. “I thought I got rid of you at Stellingrad?” Hector held up his left hand: It was missing its ring finger. “Not all of me.” “Typical Hector,” Ashley giggled. “Thinking you’re witty.” “Well, I may not be witty, but I’m not the one who’s tried to induct an agent of the Empire into my dangerous radical sect.” “We’re hardly radical, Hector.” “Attempting to assassinate the Emperor isn’t radical?” Ashley’s hand closed around the blade in the lining of her skirt. She clutched it between her forefinger and middle, and flipped it forward. Hector threw himself to the side and in the same motion drew a pistol from its holster. He fired. Ashley stumbled back, hand clutched to her breast. She fell against a stone wall and slid down, a bloody trail in her wake. ---- Someone, on a stroll through the garden to feed the ducks, found the body of Long-Haired Narcissist, Ashley Bellaux, Rebel Leader, Rebel aligned in front of the fountain. That night, at the final gathering of the small rebel faction, it was agreed that they would return to their old lives and OLD ALIGNMENTS. ---- DAY THREE BEGINS NOW. 12 to lynch.

NOBODY VOTE YET!
... Okay, reading the death post now. EDIT: I still think there's someone behind the scenes forcing lynches, despite B_real getting lynched twice in a row. Consider: Quote:

Honestly, I am personally beginning to think it isn't someone with a role that has the power to say "I want this person lynched, right now". Yet, instead, I believe it is b_real's role. It appears to me, after a second look, that whenever anyone places a vote on b_real, he is automatically lynched, regardless of how many votes he or anyone else may have. As it seems, he is also unlynchable, so it is hopeful that we as the town will learn to not lynch him after a little while.
The down side I could see out of such a role is that it could take the main power of the town out of their hands, the ability to lynch someone. As such, if that truly is his role's power, then from now on, anyone who does vote for b_real would be rather scummy as I see things. Someone that speeds up the day to make it night while taking away the lynching-power can not be helping the town out.

I don't think it's b_real's role. As has been pointed out, it seems that someone tried to lynch 42, who isn't in the game. There really isn't any other reason that would be in the death post. I think maybe someone was testing to see if b_real's lynch protection was a one-shot ability.

I'm not going to rule that out, but if you noticed, b_real asked for someone to vote for him to "test" something.

but that would mean the mafia could just keep voting for b_real and the town would never be able to lynch anyone.
Anyway the deathposts are kind of strange, we have 1 killer, probably an sk who killed the doctor and tried to kill someone yesterday. We had a demon kill a mafiate and the next day a man shot the cult leader which sounded like they were a vig. None of the kills so far have really seemed mafiaish though. It also seems weird that on night one there was a demon that didn't appear in night two and in night two there was a gun man who didn't appear night one. |

I agree with Nayno about the one vote lynch; it's most likely to be a player controlled ability like that of the mayor in B_real's Trigun Mafia.
As for the lack of mafiate activity, I'd guess from the first night post that the mafia never set in a kill. To respond about the demon and the viggish person, perhaps one can kill only on odd nights, and the other even nights.

But, like I said, I'm not ruling out the thought that someone could pull a mayor type role out and end the voting and the day like that. To me it just seems odd that b_real was the target even after he was proven to be immune to lynching. Especially after Roy put his town-aligned status up there. One would think that the mayor wouldn't lynch someone town aligned like that, unless of course, the "mayor" is scum. Its an interesting situation. I just thought I would place a second point of view out there from the popular theory.
