I'm so glad that I'm not part of the white racist horde.
But seriously it makes me so depressed when I think about the fact that the people who made this statement get grants for this shit.... |

Though I believe the term 'brainwashing' is a bit harsh, I do understand the problem with said organization. But, in today's society, is it PC for a white man to call out a black man on racism? No, of course not, we pretty much started it (please nobody mention the egyptians) in the 20th century. Now, white people have to take their lashes when it comes to racism, which is completely fine with me.
My philosophy on racism is as follows: Everyone is a little racist deep down. It may not be a hatred for those of another race, but there will always be some bumping of elbows. This happens because we are different, and being different can cause miscommunication. Plus, we all feel intimidated by those who are different from us, and that's just 100k years of tribal feuding. Although there are some people who are just plain mean and ignorant, and none of this applies to them.

It's called institutional racism in some circles Legal definition Sociological Definition "Common" definition The primary advantage(IMO) of this definition is that it makes a clear distinction, between general asswholery(some fools throwing a bottle at me from their car and calling me a nigger) and significant discrimination(me being lead away from the "nice" neighborhoods by my Realtor) that negatively impacts both me and my community as a whole.

Alright, having not read all the posts of this thread (hey, at least I'm honest), I'd like to say a few things:
1) I am white. I am not racist. I get along with black people, Asian people, Native American people, Arabic people, girls, and anyone else you throw at me just fine. 2) I have met non-white people who are NOT afraid of treating people of other races like slugs. Hatred is hatred and the idea that it doesn't apply to everyone is crap. 3) I, as a white American male, have just as little direct access to politics as anyone else. The idea that I can sic Congress on anything I want is also crap. Next off, I disagree with brainwashing of any sort. Especially by something that's supposed to be a trusted institution. I'm in school to learn. I am not in school to be fed a line of crap which essentially translates to racism against whites. Not reverse racism. Racism against whites. "Reverse" racism assumes that one party (that of white people) is wholly and unerringly in the wrong in the first place. Edit: Having read more... The above still stands. However, it should all be taken together, along with a few more points: a) The assumption that the system will protect whites in all they do is ridiculous. Everyone is equal under the law, or else O.J. would have been sporting orange faster than you can say "celebrity conviction." In the same line, a white guy has the same chance in court as any other person with the same amount of money to hire a lawyer. b) In racial crime cases, white people have the cards stacked against them. Honestly, white males have only the rights specified from our country's oldest documents. The more minorities you belong to, the better your rights are defined. In current practice, we get cases like that of the lacrosse players, who were tied up in court for something the evidence all but screams they didn't do because the victim was a poor, black girl. The problem stems from the assumption that whites ARE racist. In violent crime cases, non-white males often do get the short end of the stick if there's a white person involved. Especially if the victim is a woman. This emphasizes the point that women get their own "minority" protection. It also shows that nothing is perfect and work still needs to be done. It does NOT support the idea of universal discrimination. It just shows it in a matter of varying degrees as specified by local bias. NOTE THAT THIS IS FROM A PURELY OBJECTIVE STANDPOINT! c) From my own experience, society itself is stacked by whomever happens to be the majority of the area. I lived in rural Wisconsin where "negro" was still in use as a polite alternative and the term "black" (which I was used to from Milwaukee) wasn't even in the vocabulary. I also spent a year in St. Louis, where it was immediately clear that black people had much more freedom in common society (be it on the train, on the street, or in any other given social situation) and that each situation had intricate and well-established unwritten rules that were to be followed without exception. As I said, I am not racist. I am, however, honest, and truth can come off wrong, and often holds items people don't like to hear. If this post rubs anyone wrong, take a step back, watch some videos or listen to some music, and come back to look at the info it holds once you calm down. We can debate my points intelligently.

I can't believe this...I just...wow...
You know what's going to happen here (because it's lawyers who are the assholes): A person is going to commit a hate crime and then cite this "study" as evidence that either it's ok because I'm white and we're inherently racist or I'm not white so this isn't a hate crime because other races aren't racist. You just know it's going to happen... On the bright side it should make for a great Law and Order episode XD

Wouldn't this definition only apply to the United States? After all, if I recall correctly, when viewed on the global scale caucasians are actually a minority. Also, what about mixed-race individuals? How white do you have to be to be considered a racist?
