I visualize the world devolving into a Mad Max state where we all solve our problems with car fights and wear lots of leather.

Not any real basis for that theory of development, but I think it would be amusing.

I start a harem of beautiful, loyal young women. Given my immortal state time no longer is a vice to my existence and I raise my beloveds carefully and lovingly without the risk of turning old, eventually giving them the option to become my lovers or to simply continue living in my commune. There is no forced action. Our children over time are raised in the same loving atmoshpere until such time as the world ends.

I live VERY happily.

A group of mad immortal christians calling themselves "The Eternal Jesus Knights" try to hunt us down and slaughter us for our percieved sexual depravity. After a few short skirmishes, we move to a different state where hunting down cults is not legal.

This is getting into pretty pervy mouth-breather territory. Just sayin'.

As far as what would happen... I mean, it would depend on what the cause was if any I think. I think priorities would change for a lot of people, possibly making society better, but in the scenario described it would basically be the same as today.
