you make me want to go make my own sprites... that i will probably use for nothing... and they'll sit on my computer taking up space... and nobody will ever see them... but still... you inspire me to do so...

Well, that's it for a while. Today, I submit my work w/ the Chocobo, as well as the Ff1 upgrades. Two things that go together like Ice Cream & Ham. Anyway, I'm not going to point out what FF1 upgrade sprites are mine, save to tell you that all of the overland ones are re-dos by me. The regular FF1 overlands have heads that are too big, and they're far too fat for your battle appearance.

For those not acquainted with FF1, this is NOT how the actual upgrade for the LW will look like, but rather these are for the "real" light warriors.

I knew the question would come up eventually.

Is it me or is that duck stoned?

Not really.

See there was no Arylon in the original FF1. She just came into origins, and being I've never bothered to play origins, I'm not all that familar w/ her.

The sprite is a dancer sprite, based off the FF2j & FF3j overland dancer. As well as the 5j Dancer job class.

Of course, Brian might end up naming her Arylon if he ever finds occasion to put her into the comic.

SWBob, dude, excellent work with the sprites!
Abso-fugging-lutely great!


Only one thing got to me though... Fighter on the... second sprite release?
Yeah, yeah, anyway, just when he was looking head on, he looked a little weird.
Just the head though.

How did you go about making the head-on face? Because it looks a little squared off... and too symetrical!

I've attached a little head shot picture here.
I used the head from the kneeling sprite (Fighter's "Bleh, I'm almost dead!" sprite) as a base for my head-on face, so, um, yeah, <insert following comment here>


I dunno, maybe I'm just a bit used to my version...

But yeah, other than Fighter's head-on face, great work, excellent job!

I've played around w/ the head-on face for a bit. It isn't easy, as I'm trying to get Fighter's eyes at the same level as his side view.

I won't say I'm perfectly happy w/ what I've created, but I'm trying to avoid doing something like yours which isn't a head on view, rather a view in which Fighter slightly turns his head towards the camera.

Of course, it isn't perfect. Just like my 'V' victory hand isn't perfect, but its as close as I can get a sprite to do that kind of thing.
