We're still looking into things, I guess.
Alright, what does everyone's schedule look like Thursday or Sunday night?

Both for me are good. I usually have hockey on mondays and wednesday and work saturday nights, so I'm essentially in the clear!

Swallow and Roll Out!

I'd like to express interest in this endeavour at DnD. However, I live in australia (according to GMT, it's +10:00 onto it, or 16 hours ahead of american people). Would that pose a bit of a problem in me joining, or would you prefer more stable players?

Rhiya, I'd have no problem with you playing, as long as you can make it work for your time frame. For instance, if we started at say 7 PM, it would be 11 AM your time.
Would you be able to swing that? So is everyone specifically cool for this Thursday, as in two days from now, around 7 PM? If nothing else, we'll see how many people show up, select our DM, and pre-game some.

I am, yes. How are we gonna do this? IRC, MapTool, something else entirely?

I have experience with mIRC, but tell me about MapTool. As long as it's easy to access and can roll dice in the actual room (so there's no having to switch between windows to roll and no temptation to cheat), I'd be cool with it.

Well, I linked it on the first page, but here it is again: http://www.rptools.net/index.php?page=maptool It's a program specifically designed for roleplaying. It lets you make and edit maps and place tokens to represent enemies, players and such, with permissions control so only a player can move his token and so forth. As for dice, it has functions both to roll publicly or so only the GM sees, and players and GMs can set up macros for frequently used rolls. That's about all I know of it, since I only used it as a player, but it seems like it would be a good choice.

This will actually be my first chat-room d&d experience. As well as my buddies. The more pertinent information we put here prior to starting on Thursday, the better. Are we rolling chars in room? Previously? That kinda info would be fan-freakin-tastic!
