Where did that comic go anyway? It seems to have vanished from the net.

It is interesting to see how vampires evolve and shift around the mythologies in different ways. Usually they shift up or down in power depending on the purpose, making them either sparklingly incredible god-beings of power, ala LOK, or an affliction that kinda fucks you up, ala Nosferatu (I think), or something in between, like White Wolf Vampire: the Masquerade or Blade.
Unless I'm mistaken that was pretty much why Kain could strut around town butchering people and sucking blood without anyone so much as raising a hand in his direction.

To clarify this- Nosferatu was an adaption of Dracula but they couldn't get the rights for it so they changed the word "vampire" to "nosferatu" and "Count Dracula" to "Count Orlock". But the creepy looking vampire is supposed to be Dracula. They did change a few of his powers and made him look some more traditional accounts of vampires to avoid lawsuits. It didn't work.

LOK sounds pretty badass. I can't really think of any types of vampires that awesome. Kind of makes me want to check it out.

I always liked the Buffyverse vamps. All genuinely evil (except Angel and Spike obviously, but they're special cases), not too over-powered, still hampered by a few weaknesses and they got stronger the longer they lived. And the whole turning to dust thing once killed was always cool (I think they may have been the first vamps to ever do that, but I may be wrong.)
Also some really awesome characters, such as the completely insane Drusila and the sly and sarcastic Master.
