Fetched the Candy Cane!

Yeah, it is obvious now. I'm glad they didn't toss in Jesus anywhere along the way though. I thought the best Lucifer was Future Sam to be honest, some how that brief bit was pretty damn sweet.
I was still hoping for a more kick ass show down between Micheal and Lucifer. I'm sort of bummed out with the desire for every season finale to end on a cliffhanger. It's really starting to get annoying that everyone ends in some cliff hanger nowadays.

The cliff hanger seemed rather tacked on as well. Seemed like it was just there to set up the sixth season.

Maybe vessels don't stay in. Or God could be trying to be nice.

Well, the streetlamp went out when Sam arrives. So maybe he's still Lucifer. Or maybe he's possessed by a demon.
Or maybe the gallons of demon blood he ingested turned him into a demon forever.

God could have cured him of that like he did in the first episode of the season.

God can do a lot of things.
Doesn't mean he does them.

There's also an idea that Sam is now an angel, though that seems sort of stupid.

Sam an angel? That's all kinds of screwed up. As a demon... that could be interesting to say the least.
Castiel had a great exit. I hope we'll get to see him making some headway into cleaning up heaven. As for God, I'm not sure if he is the same person as our dear prophet. There's a few plot holes to be had there. |

I think the logic (if there is any) behind Sam being an angel is that the light flickered off, which both angels and demons have been capable of doing. Some people think he's a demon, others are speculating that he's actually an angel.

I doubt he's either. Demons don't have their original bodies, and if he were going to come back as an angel I wouldn't buy Chuck putting a "the end" on the story two seconds earlier. The ambiguous look on his face suggests to me that he's either not planning to see Dean, or it's not all Sam though.
Angels pulling Dean out of hell and resurrecting Adam caused major omens in the past, so I don't think they were involved, although God himself might have done it. Might have been a gift from Death? I dunno, it's too hard to say from so little. The light going out could be all kinds of things, or something we haven't seen yet.
