Conqueror Haki is a person's 'spirit' and nothing more. So I guess anyone can use it, yeah, provided they're a huge enough badass.

Yeah Rayleigh did say that conquer haki is something you are born with and a person's capacity can never be increased.

Also, it is almost guaranteed that Luffy will be better at the offensive/defensive haki than he is at the prediction haki.

The Conqueror Haki can be reinforced. So its power can probably double and triple since his spirit is pretty strong.

I'm interested in the changes that will have happened in the world after two years. How far will some of the Rookies have gotten, for example? And what about Blackbeard? etc.

Compared with many other Shounen mangas, what has kept me reading/watching One Piece to this day is that Oda seems to have atleast some form of a long term plan for the series, which is more than most series can say.

well, Oda has said that he originally intended for one piece to be 500 chapters long, hence how quickly they went through East Blue, but he fell in love with the characters while writing it and wanted to write more about thier adventures so his length has pretty much doubled just because of all the things he now wants to include.

Doubled is an understatement. People have to tell Oda all the time to STOP writing because he has so many ideas. You have the cover arcs that are different stories from the back chapters that tell us that this entire world is friggin detailed. Then, he's had to throw away a few characters (Zombie Generals) so he could tighten up the manga and stop the anime from catching up so quickly.

It scares me that he's done so much, but it's the reason I still read OP over Bleach or Naruto.

On White-Beards devil fruit power, I feel need to point out. He doesn't create earthquakes, I mean he can but that isn't what his power does. Look at when he uses his power. He's causing quakes in space itself.

Also reminds me abit of the head captain of Bleach. Both had their main power completely negated and just responded with "Whats your point" and used their bare hands.

But about Haki. There is one thing I hate about it. Its a generic power that says "Logia users can suck it". I loved how they had to figure out how to exploit their weaknesses to beat them. It also strips away Blackbeards powers advantage when you find out there are LOTS of people that can negate powers.

Blackbeard's already got the advantage of having more than one Fruit power in his body, he can put up with having another advantage taken away.

I wouldn't say they have their advantages taken away. Cause they can still still turn into thier respective element or what have you. Its just whenever their in their human form, thier body doesn't automatically do the "transform into smoke/fire!" of its own free will as it has but rather it has to be more controlled.

Also, Blackbeard mentioned that he can't transform his body like other logia users so Haki isn't gonna affect him as much. He's used to being able to take a hit as a result and his devil fruit power helps him absorb those hits hence Haki will be greatly diminished since they're not stopping a transformation, but still hitting him.
