I think the correct analogy is that because Christ is god he works more like H20, God is a sentient cloud that rained down Jesus, Jesus then solidified into ice which was human, he then got beat up for heresy against god, put in a cave and melted, resolidified into ice and opened the cave, blah blah blah, melted, evaporated and went into the sky.

The moral of the story is, do what's right, speak the truth and stand up for your morality even if the whole world wants to beat you up, because in the end we all turn into something else anyway.

For instance, I don't believe in Christianity, and I'll spread that belief even if they don't like me for it. Why? Well, Christianity is silly.
Speaking from a scientific standpoint, not knowing that water is H2O, since H20 is, well, good luck making it, is not helping your argument sound credible.

Speaking from a religious standpoint, I'm mildly offended that you're so flippant about other people's religions, regardless of whose it is (in this case mine). The religious rule here was established over concerns for respecting religion and while calling someone else's beliefs "silly" is pretty tame, it's still inconsiderate.

To be honest I was thinking of it as I was walking home from work today, and having Torque post, well, the comic script, I knew I had to post it.

Hey, I totally changed the dialogue, and made it my own! I don't steal... I borrow!
On second thought, they stole it from me.
In space.
So I can't prove it.
For some reason.

I'm still trying to imagine how tai chi relates to ice, and I mean the grounding I can imagine and the slipperiness, but "encased in ice" is probably more BJJ than tai chi. Even tai chi groundfighting is really fluid, it's like fighting a sandbag that hovers on top of you.

I respect it as an ethical and moral teaching, I respect what it does to people who are broken or lost late in their life, but I find it's methods childish and utter rubbish when taken literally.

IMHO the methodology of teaching mythology as fact to prove moral points on a global scale is societally poisonous, the added comfort assumes the people are too weak to deal and the nature of making up what are essentially lies too old to refute in the hopes that they will cause a moral compass to those who "would not know better" frankly I find is condescending to "good" people while it constantly berates the basic human being as being inherently flawed giving the religion justification to demean other human beings and their choices.

I would say considering, me and christianity have a pretty even view of each other.
