Well, it's not quite "illusions" per se, more like he can manipulate the five senses. Like, if he wanted, he could make you think that up was down, left was down, and that you were covered in porcupines.

Of course, Aizen never really used that to its full potential. Only really used it to make people stab Momo.

And he needs someone to have watched him releasing his sword before he can control their senses, so there's that.

Then again, Aizen's also a ridiculously powerful wizard.

Reasoning behind Kenpachi always winning. IF He beats Kenchiro then he won and had a good fight. If he loses and dies... then in his eyes he meet a worthy opponent and had a good fight and died with honor. Thus he wins. Its not a total victory but to go out in a massive blaze of glory is all Kenpachi really wants.
