But, I mean, movie Joker has the green hair and make up, the laughing, the evil for evil's sake, the expendable goons, the gay for Batman, the homelessness; what's missing? Is it pies and fake pistols?

Either that or Jack Nicholson. (Kevin Conroy will always be my Batman)
Token: Is it Mark Hamill? It's Mark Hamill isn't it. (Though I'd agree that "hipster" - and "meme" - both seem to be changing meanings and bifurcating in them quickly.)
Regardless, I'm excited about this. Whether it's as good as the other two or not, I don't think it'll matter too much - it will likely still be a good (or at least enjoyable) movie, and I'm stoked. I have no idea when I'll actually get to see it, however.

New catwoman- horrendously wrong. Catwomen is supposed to be sexy but also to be scary- to be intimidating in her feminity not princess Mia. Even the batman porno got this one right.
Aside from that TDK sucked. It was 2 hours of shitty pop psychology, stilted dialogue, crappy acting, unfollowable fightscenes and "realism" ie things even more fantastical than the comics. |

I have to agree that this Catwoman is shit. Smarty pretty much hit the nail on the head with why. As for Bane.... isn't he supposed to be like... Mexican? Anyway, the mouth thing looks kind of stupid, and it's shit that he's not wearing his luchadore mask, but at least he seems marginally scary.

So I have a theory. It's a theory I've had for a while, and this trailer (particularly the heavy emphasis on Joseph Gordon-Levitt) really sells it for me.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character becomes Batman over the course of the movie. He's a completely new character and the movie's promotional materials (and choice of villain) have heavily played up this idea of Bruce Wayne being broken and beaten, and Nolan's previous two films have focused heavily on the idea of Batman as an idea to the people of Gotham. This trailer in particular makes be think that the 'rising' of the title refers not to the end of The Dark Knight and Batman's redemption in the eyes of Gotham, but to Bruce Wayne being completely destroyed by Bain and the ah Ghuls and whoever else shows up in this movie, and Batman coming back strong with another man behind the mask. I am so fucking excited for this flick. The only other movie this year that I want to see more is the new Tarantino, which (oddly) also has JGL in a supporting role.

You think? It seems to me to be the natural way to end the trilogy, on both a narrative and thematic level. And seeing as they're rebooting Batman after this anyway, Nolan's free to have an ending that radical.

I see JGL as more of a replacement for Gordon, who appears to be the one getting his back broken in this one, at least from the very first teaser that came out. I'm not saying he doesn't hold down the fort while Bruce is in jail with the rest of the rich people, but as Batman? I don't think that'll be how it goes.
Anyway, I can't believe people aren't stoked for this, but then again it has been 4 years since TDK fever, so...and man, people are being pretty judgmental about Catwoman (and Bane, to a lesser extent). A lot of people didn't like Ledger for the Joker either, until the movie came out. EDIT: Regarding Token's post, I felt the Scarecrow was at least as far away from the comic book version as the Joker was from the comic book version. Hell, I didn't like Scarecrow at all until he showed up in TDK, because then he actually felt like a real villain in his own right.
