Does anyone know what the word is on the details of DC's properties in terms of their license agreements with whoever has the movie rights to Supes, Batmans, etc?

EDIT: Superman and Batman are clearly under control but I meant more like, is there some lingering copyright on Flash, GL, Wonder Woman, etc?

Well that was the thing, if they are trying to build up continuity it would allow them to provide the villain early for a sequel, which is what the cartoon did. Brainiac was in the first episode, Superman did his whole origin and a bunch of other crap in between, mostly involving Lex Luthor, and then like, episode 10, Brainiac finally showed up as a villain.

But you are right it is probably Zod's war.

Let's assume that DC is ready to go full out with this thing. That man of steel really is the first step into the new DC movie unniverse and it will all come together into the justice league movie in a few years...

Ok, check this out...

You know in the movie, how Supes finds this huge ass Alien looking ship in the artic? Ok, that's the fortress of solitude. But not only that... it is also a kryptonia ship. Also where he finds information from his father and the superman costume. Why? Cause the costume is adult sized and we are already in the knowing that he only gets the costume later on in life... if his father intended for him to have the costume since the start, he would send it with him as a baby. I also know he will find a Recording from Jor El later in life because you simply don't sign in Russel Crow to kill him off in the first 10 minutes and not use him again...

From that, i jump to the speculation that the superman outifit "Hope-S" and everything, is actually the official Uniforn of a Kriptonian ambassador or some other sort of of political figure with a non-aggressive stance. Also explains the "Hope" on his chest.

Now... why would there be a secondary ship stranded in the artic? Why does it cary info from Jor el and the costume?

We know it doesn't belong to Zod, that makes no sense... my idea here is that more likely Zod followed that ship in search of Kal El and ended up on Earth.

So... we get to the end of the movie and that plot point kinda stays in the air, right?

Well it just so happens that the navigation control of that ship was in fact Braniac.

let's just jump some hoops here and assume Braniac finds his way to Lex Luthor... Lo' and behold... we have our Justice League villain, complete with the ability of creating a powerful, yet screen-disposable army of enemies. Now imagine this scene of Lex finding Braniac being the "Post-credits" scene...

Yep, I would be hyped for that.

So, here is the big question... let's consider what we know from the trailers. Let's propose that it is in fact the DC unniverse and the arrival of Zod makes the heroes aware of one another... how do you think this Aesthetic would feel for the other heroes?

Cause, i can in fact see how they get this mold from this superman trailer and transfer this to Aquaman or Wonder Woman... it can work in that scale... not so sure about Batman though.

Actually... if they do reboot Batman for this, he is probably going to be the last one... and just to make sure that the Supernatural element exists in his world he is very likely to fight Killer Croc or Grundy...
If they do the "eventually finds out about other superheroes thing", I think it would be through the military trying to bring them together. Much like Avengers has SHIELD, I could see Cadmus doing a similar thing here (and eventually turning on them in a Justice League movie).

Killer Croc is kind of lame for a full-feature villain. Clayface would be better.

I'm pretty sure Warner Bros. has the full rights to the whole DC universe, it's not like Marvel where two or three big franchises are licensed by Fox and the rest are owned by Disney. This is only judging by the fact that they have developed op-scripts for various DC heroes like Wonder Woman, Flash, etc. just to see if they could think up a decent movie idea. And their CW shows like Arrow have no problem dipping into any corner of the DC universe they want.

I kind of hope DC find another way to hook people other than using the post credit techique. I mean that it has become so incorporated into Marvel's style of connecting films with each other that, well, it's going to seem like DC is copying Marvel entirely.

I agree that would work but again, considering that DC and WB only just got on board with a continuity driven Justice League film after Avengers was such a success, I don't know if they would be so gung-ho as to introduce the Justice League villain in the first film.

Yep, Warner Brothers and the subcompanies own the film and television rights to the entirety of the DC universe, which is why Smallville tried to launch spin offs for Flash and Aquaman at different points. Warner Bros. tend to stick with Superman and Batman in film because they're the most popular and because other franchises such as Wonder Woman and Green Lantern have either failed to get off the ground or have tanked.

I'm excited for this movie because in theory I'm down with having continuity in DC franchise movies and also I love Synder's visual style.

...But this movie will probably be mostly boring, because it's just another rehash and a bunch of backstory with child actors and emo adult supes and 1-2 flashy action sequences, but please, prove me wrong.

Copying Marvel's strategy with their movie releases is exactly what WB should do, though. Just blatantly copy them. Heck, make the Wonder Woman as close as possible to the Thor formula, as well.

That would be the Epitomy of "Playing it safe", but fuck... if it works...

I mean, i don't expect DC to reinvent the wheel here... i just want they stop to sucking on their movieworks.

I'm saying that Catwoman and Green Lantern redeem Ghost Rider 1 and 2!! And that's a marvel character!
