They're actually casting Jason Momoa as Aquaman?!?
I love Momoa but that's not the role I'd pick for him.

So we are clear

It will take atleast another generation before Aquaman can be taken seriously by nerd culture as he is so intrenched in meme. It would be like having a movie where batman's utility belt wasn't magic

The problem is exactly that... its not Aquaman... its maybe 10 minutes of Aquaman in a movie with the first appearance of about 7 other characters beside superman who all need some screen time...

The problem isn't that it's a JL Movie, it's that it's THIS JL movie
What, you mean like Avengers?

The avengers is the final rollout of a long series of movies... it had proper setup. It was enjoyable on its on, for damn sure. But most of the appeal was seeing the heroes you got to know from the previous movies on the screen together. This JL movie doesn't have that... so even though we know who Batman, Superman, Lex, Wonderwoman, Aquaman and etc are... we haven't had a chance to know what the interpretation of them in this movie-verse is...

To be fair, if anyone is going to make Aquaman seem cool to the average person it's going to be Jason Mamoa wielding a trident from the back of a kraken.
