"A flute? Hmm... maybe I could carve one for you... Admittedly, I'v only done whistles before, but it's worth a shot."

"It doesn't really have to be playable, as I am going to be playing on my magical one, and it will be consumed as soon as I finish my song...luckily, I can repeat until we are done searching, but still, it's kinda' hard to swim and play at the same time."

"You mean... it's not a lingering effect? How do you bard songs work, anyway? I mean, you are a bard right, given that you talk about songs the way mages talk about spells..."

"In almost all cases, the effect lasts as long as the song does. It just means we have a greater control over the duration of the song, with the loss of being able to cast another while the first lasts, unless you are really fast, in which case, you might be able to overlap 4 songs at most."

"That's got to be hard. I'm no stranger to magic myself, but even I know that trying to cast like that is really, fricking hard..."

"You learn to deal with it..." Vin replied. "I know some Masters who can even switch instruments in time to stack the effects of four songs. I can do two to three if the effects are slightly longer, but I've never been able to do four at a time."

Ganurath shakes his head as he pulls out a rusty old flute. "Lessing Chatting, more chopping. I have this from back in the days as a conscript for morale. Will it work?"

OOC: No.
IC: Kal listened to the long explanation. "Wow. My brain suddenly hurts. But anyways..." He walked over to the lake, and looked inside. It was teeming with fish. "Wait. Kay said that they like dark places that have acess to a lot of food, right?" He pointed at one cave that was higher up on the mountain. He then pointed to another that could be seen through another hole slightly farther down. There was a visible body of water. Following that, he pointed at the base of the mountain. "Maybe water is connected through there? Maybe the lake was formed by rain-water leaking through the caves, through a subterranean hole and into it?" He shrugged "May as well look in there." They heard a roaring that echoed through the valley. "I'd say that justifies it." *** Inside the cave, something came up behind Lucian, grabbed him, and flung him down into the water. Except, it wasn't an immediate landing. No, he passed through about twenty feet of stone before hitting against the cold water.

"I don't only cast fire magic..." Celes had muttered when people commented on her being a pyro. After the group heard the roar, she took a few steps in the direction of it, "Well, then what are we waiting for, let's go kill that thing before it kills them." She said.

Ganurath was already marching in the direction of the roar. "Hurry up, we have no time to lose!"
