Just remember what they said in Van Wilder. "Remember to take a pre-game dump.." Wouldn't want that to creep up on you during the writing section or something. My suggestion is study early and party late. Get NO MORE than 8 hours of sleep. MY Political Science teacher has a formula for doing well on tests. He says, "Any studying done after 6 PM the night before is pointless," he goes on with a list of things that you should do at least 1 of instead.(I suggest more than 1 LOL) "Have Sex, Get Stoned, Read a Holy Book, or go to sleep" My suggestion is to get up no more than 30 minutes before you have to leave, eat breakfast that doesn't contain lots of sugar and get caffeinated, especially if you study a lot on caffeine, its called state dependant learning. You are more likely to remember things if you are in the same mental state you were in at the time of the learning. I didn't study, forgot my trig, didn't get a lot of sleep, and had a small breakfast and I got a 29 on the ACT. Remember a calculator, (the SAT has more calc restricitons than the ACT) and maintain a calm mental state. If you start working yourself up you become more likely to second guess your right answers or forget stuff you know.
Good Luck!

theres a secondary school one?
anyways i would think that all these would still apply to it especially the go have sex the night before. lets just hope we forumites can find a girl/boy of the opposite gender to have sex with the night before...without having to pay them of course. but thats still 3-4 years away for me and im not planning on doing any more schooling after 4 year college.

I took a practice one from an independent company using old Math/Verbal sections with the new Writing section added in, and scored a 2250.
If it had been on the old two-part SAT, it would have been a 1550. The damn essay screwed me over.

I took it the 12th, didn't think it was terribly difficult. My essay question was about whether creativity is need in our society. Anyone else get that one?

I missed the chance to take the SAT this year (no matter though. It would just be for practice anyway). I remember I took the SAT about 2 years ago and scored a 1040. Pretty damn good for a 7th grader. And I didn't study for it either. :P
This essay question stuff seemed whack at first, but from reading this thread I'm a little more sure about it. I'm a great writer, but I hate writing stuff on the fly like that. I guess I'll get the chance to try it out next year. |

I would say to al those that haven't taken it yet, to definitely study for it by taking a prep course, I really wish I had. because man, I could have gotten free rides anywhere if I had gotten a little higher, Slackers redemption = SAT and/or ACT
BTW: SAT 1450 ACT 32 |
