Indeed.
Money is nice, but we're adventurers. We kill stuff. We'll get plenty of money from killing monsters. Even if we don't, this isn't Forgotten Realms. There's an extremely low chance of someone being able to stop us from just grabbing something. So, Choice 1 for me. |

Current Time: Evening
Date: Fourth Location: The Northern Village The gathered group, while interested wholeheartedly in the tales of gold, jewels and possible artifacts worth more money than anything they had ever had before, also had heard this before and were not interested. They had grown tired, they had grown weary...they wanted to get their job done. They opted to go on to the town. Before that happened, however, Bookworm held aloft the Eye of Never and declared "THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!" before shattering it on the nearest rock. Bookworm ceased to be. The group gaped...then shrugged. The Eye of Never's magical aspect had been lost upon the shattering, so the jagged glass remnants were not needed nor useful in the slightest. Instead they went to the town! TO THE TOWN! The town was a dirty, dingy simple little place. Chimneys spewed forth clouds of smoke that in turn clung to everything, adding an overall stench to the presence of anyone who lived in this town. The people rarely bathed, as the only source of hot water was the cursed water spring that the heroes had ignored. "Heroes!" the people cried out, pointing to the motley crew with joy and exuberance. Much dancing was held, much feasting prepared. Yes, the people were happy to have someone show up to save their bacon. The elder spoke. "There, to the north in a cave, is something evil. It breathes in the cold air and makes it colder, it thrives on the lack of heat. It hates fire, it hisses at the sun. It spreads it's wings and the winds scream hatred at us all. Kill it and we shall give you anything you desire!" Then the people shouted in fear. Something was shuffling, moving, waddling along toward the group. Bookworm waved hello. ~ Choice 1 :: Head north out of the village, along the clearly well lit path ~ Choice 2 :: Ignore said well lit path and use the dark, spooky and treacherous path of death ~ Choice 3 :: (Undead Sense) There is something in the town graveyard.

Aw, crap.
I was hoping I could do some good. But, in hindsight, that was pretty stupid. I take it I can't be ressurected? |

Heh. I don't want to become unundead. Before you amended your post, I thought I was dead. Non-existant. Whatever. |

Wait...did Bookworm try to use it? or did he just did he just decide to smash it against a rock?
And is Bookworm actually alive? Did he appear out of nowhere? Can Bookworm outrun the rest of our group the party as they try to kill him for breaking our shiny item? EDIT: Wait...undead sense? Is Bookworm an undead? or was it someone who was bitten during the zombie raid and that is Arlan's little surprise. Vote: Graveyard Lets check it out. We might have to push a tombstone and fall into a hole and then race the ghost of the old gravekeeper while he hurls fire toward us. Then at the end he might give us the hooksh...I mean, a reward.

I...
Er... Decided to smash it against a rock. Sorry. I thought it was a good idea, for some reason. Apparently, smashing it made me an Undead. And also, I don't have HP. It's physically impossible to kill me. |
