The only problem with Zilla's theory that some of the media has been culted is that it would rely on the same cult having inducted two of the media members both nights. Or it could be that one media member was inducted into Cult A and another was inducted into Cult B and both Cult A and B leaders told their cultist media members to investigate Zilla and make her show as Libertarian. In the latter case I think it's a possibility, but highly unlikely that they would come up with the same idea and pick the same target too. With the original idea, well you're considering that one of the cult leaders getting two media members each night and that's extremely unlikely as well.

I'm still willing to hear any other theories or discussions especially since I don't trust that all the media members may be telling the truth, but 3 investigations in a row showing the same thing is pretty good evidence and better than anything else we currently have.

Yep, Cephrir, that's right -- media members can choose whether or not they should reveal their results. On another note, I just thought I'd bring up that I investigated Cephrir, so Bill O'Reilly must be me. In addition, there wasn't a Bill O'Reilly before, so yay!

Secondly, at risk of sounding like a moron, who is the guy in the picture in the night post?

Anyway, three investigations (I think?) getting Zilla as a Libertarian make me want to vote her (as discussed), but it could be that we're just mindlessly repeating stuff that was reported before or something? Darn, I wish I would've picked somebody investigated the night before, but I figured we had that covered with everyone else. Hmm.

So I think for now, I will just

Vote: Moogle

Whoever-it-was and I both got the same Moogle result the same day -- so IF our results are being influenced by results other people reported (which MAY NOT be true), I don't think this hypothetical situation would occur?

Actually, no, I think I'm trying to make too many assumptions on game mechanics on too little information. I'm going keep my Moogle vote for the moment, but I'll probably switch to Zilla (after we've had a little more discussion) since that makes a lot more sense than the what-ifs I'm doing. I do think Moogle is a valid lynch based on two investigations being the same (I don't know if me, Bill O'Reilly, is a good source or not, I will have to look that up), but three is better than two so that trumps Cati thinking too much.

Moogle -- I'm pretty sure media members can only report the results that they receive or just not report at all.

The only problem with that though Cati is that I know I've not been culted and we're going off of your word and a public investigation on me, versus three public investigations on Zilla.

There's also the fact that you've openly claimed to be a media member so you may very well be culted or have been culted since Night 1 and are just setting people up since we never got to see your result from Night 1.

She does bring up a good point though, and I don't like your discounting theories that are more likely than you'd expect, especially with the freewheeling media we have had so far. Two results night 1 would be more convincing than one on night 1 and two on night 2, especially considering one of them didn't report what they were supposed to. It's a well-fabricated ploy.

I suspect Moogle as the republican party leader, and his two converts were media icons, though not necessarily the two that reported today, depending on the mechanics of the media. If they do actually just report what others found, it's entirely possible that the media is just totally broken and there are presets for their investigations as soon as they are investigated, i.e. I was reported as Libertarian first, and the other news shows don't want to be "wrong" so they report as Libertarian also.

I'm also intently interested in hearing if Cati will be counter-claimed. It's pretty nuts that media don't know who they are.

I'd go out on a limb and say that any media members probably figured out who they were after their first public investigation, since they know who they investigated.

I don't think Ape runs the game that way. If the Media all knew each other, then if one of them was culted the others would catch on quite fast, and the game would be over quite fast without much fun either.

What I'm intently interested in is why you are asking Cati to be counter-claimed. It is probably in the best interest of the Media in the current events that claiming is kept to a minimum, especially if other media want to vouch for what she's been saying is true. It creates more targets for culting, and less success for the media to be telling the truth if they report like Cati says.

I doubt Cati will be counter-claimed at this moment, though, as such actions would've happened right after Cati announced her media alignment. Delaying counter-claiming is suspicious, in my humble opinion.

And because I am so lazy, I don't bother checking what date or time Cati claimed, so I'm not sure how long's it been, and therefore my argument may be total MOOTNESS.

And to confirm, nope, the media does not know who the other media players are, so we wouldn't be able to tell if the others were culted or not. We're not masoned or anything.

I still find it hard to believe that you weren't given a name by Ape Boy if you are part of the media, since in most games you do get the name of your character/role if there is one besides generic roles. On the flip side though it would be strange that you said on Day 2 that you would published your investigation this time and sure enough a new reporter's name surfaces.
