Just to go with the theme of "wacky shit", here's a drawing that I did of a chinchilla, but after coloring it in Photoshop, it got a bit out of hand....

In hopes of trying to restore order to this thread (or just to the best of my ability), I give you something I did long ago (I have quite a bit of these, actually). This was back when I had longer hair (it's way shorter now...). One of my many self portraits...
Main thing that gets me is that it makes me look like I'm 30 years older than I actually am....

Ya'lls crazy. ^^ I like all of them immensely though (I'm particularly fond of "goofy")
We're starting a project in my design class. You're supposed to have a ball somewhere and then have some design leading to it (labrynth-y) so... these are my current three brainstorming sketch ideas for mine. I hope I have the right idea ^^;; The final piece will be 24x20" Instructions (abridged): invent a linear composition that implies volume in the interior of an 8" circle. around this volumetric circle create a path, an interior, or exterior passageway that is also linear They're pretty huge, just as a warning. My favorite: (I think about an inch got cut off of the right while scanning) Sometime I should actually post some stuff from my design class. I work uber hard on the stuff, but am too lazy to get around to getting it on my computer because they're always too big to fit inside of my scanner. ^^;

That outline for the project makes no sense to me. It sounds like you have to design something inside a ball, which is just weird. But those are shweet designs, very magical-y. They make the ball look like it's speeding off to somewhere.

Judging by what she said and the pictures themselves, the assignment is where you draw a ball and make a design around it where it's the focal point of the entire picture. "Leading" the eye to the ball somehow.
CelesJessa: Some of those look trippy. Lots of swirls and a similar concept spread around the picture. Although, I feel that for the first and third one, there should be more complicated designs around the ball. The second one really shows this, which I like. I was always told that design is about a balance between simple and complicated. Too simple and it looks boring, but too busy and it just might look like pure chaos (unless that's what you're going for [which can be a bad thing seeing that stuff like that tends to hurt my eyes]). Also, is this going to end up being colored? Seeing that color can be a huge factor when it comes to design.

It looks all curved, like you're viewing it through a fish eye lens or something. How do you do that? I've been playing with how I draw perspective guidelines, bending them to produce exaggerated depth and things, but I haven't found a method that reliably produces a fisheye look on things that aren't square buildingy things.
Or do you magically eyeball it?
