I'm getting to the point where Balthier kind of irks me, in spite of being a great character, but I would have preferred him to Vaan. I mean, I would have LOVED getting Cid or Fran, but I'll take what I can get. Vaan's just boring.

Basch would have been the best choice with Gabranth already in story-wise, but they gave Gabranth all of his moves (or look-alikes, at least), which would complicate things.

Yeah, that's why I haven't brought him up. Basch kicks ass, but Gabranth can pretty much fill any role he could gameplay wise.

Actually, fuck Final Fantasy. Put Ashley Riot in this game. I don't care that it doesn't make sense, I want to kick ass in assless chaps.

I found Vaan inoffensively bland, mostly because he gets shoved to the side instead of shoving the interesting characters into the spotlight, unless he's jumping in to provide a Narm.

I agree, it's just because he's inoffensively bland I don't want to see him in this game. The more I think about it the more I'd like both Vaan and Penelo out of XII and replaced with Larsa.

Maybe he'll have the power to steal other character's moves, and do all the things other main characters can, just not as well.
