I RETURN AGAIN!
Only this time it was a move to another town. Nets up, latest project: Face was originally just supposed to be there as a color sample..and things got out of hand. Last edited by Grandmaster_Skweeb; 09-07-2008 at 10:35 PM. |

Time to finally catch up on the comments I fell behind on!
Doc Ock (from page 373) - I do like that shirt. Your sketchy artwork always looks like it would look really nice if it would be refined and inked (or something like that). It would be cool to see it like that sometime, I think. Savage Thinking - Man, I'm always blown away by your stuff. The hair, the eyes, the shading on the skin, just fantastic. The no refence picture looks pretty great too! TDK - That picture (the one Gurusloth commented on) really looks great. Probably the best picture I've seen you draw to date. Your angels are looking better too. Celes - Still awesome, although the sudden gradient to grey on the ears seems kind of... funny for some reason. Batgirl - I reaaaly like the Raana Tay one. I'm not up on my Star Wars knowlege, but is he from Star Wars? Skweeb - Always good to see your artwork back. I particularly like this one, for some reason. I think it's the blue paint on his face. Response to comments regarding my last picture: Thanks a bunch. Yeah, The feet/hands are kind of... not good. The biggest thing on those sketches is the form of the body and such, which isn't really a good excuse to do the hands and feet wrong, but I just wasn't focusing on them too terribly closely at the time. I will work hard to make them look not-as-bad next time. Sketch from me. I should be doing homework, what am I doing? Frog makes me happy because it's the first time I've drawn him with little reference and he didn't look completely stupid.

CJ: Those are awesome as always. :3 What did you use? The style is neat.
Skweeb: Awesome. He looks fierce! ZJ: Looks like some 20's thing. Like, what's her name, Marilyn Monroe. So I tried to make an outline purely with photoshop with my mouse, with the pen tool. This is the result: I think it turned out pretty well. |

And cool TDK, that looks pretty nice for just trying to do lineart freehand with the pen tool. Random psuedo-advice: I'm not very photoshop savvy, but I found that if you make a sort of outline of the line you want to draw with the pen tool, and then fill the area rather than just stroke, it will give you a nice crisp line with more variation in line thickness. That's at least what I do because I know nothing about photoshop.

Thanks CJ, I'll try that. Using the stroke tool was just how I was instructed to do it when instructed in this technique (By Andy Frogman from Ultima-Java. He's a friend of mine.)
Here's the colored/detailed version: I'm fairly happy with it. Its actually better than a lot of my early colored pictures. Expression's kinda creepy though. XD |

Yeeeah, son.

Working on the female figure.
No matter how much I tried, I couldn't get that ass just right. Oh, and those feet? Pretty much the best I've drawn in the history of ever.

ZJ, that's really good as always, but maybe a bit too manly...Like the shoulders too wide, maybe the torso and legs too thick, and the jaw is a little manly...The feet are awesome, though.
So I've been in a bit of an artistic rut lately. Can't seem to make myself draw much at school, where I usually draw a lot. So I drew Andy Frogman from UJ. The front sword is curved for some reason and a little too short, but I like how the left arm came out, going away from the camera. Edit: I was tired when I drew this...FAIL. No I haven't given up yet. Just been distracted. Lustmord's dark ambience be pounding the brain into doodling and fleshing out the project.
~~~ Sav. Thinking, try narrowing the waist on the left side a bit above the waist. The human mind associates waist curve with the feminine figure, I think it'll add more emphesis to your picture. Last edited by Grandmaster_Skweeb; 09-19-2008 at 04:58 AM. |
