It's a dragon powerful enough to have sacrifices! It isn't going to hear a song on the breeze and think to itself "My word, what an enjoyable number, I ought to go down there and donate to their troupe so they can spread this pleasant tune across the land", it's going to come out and murder us.

Choice Five at least lets us start the battle on the offensive.

We could be saying the same thing about our magic-wielding allies saying "Gee pulling rabbits out of a hat isn't scary, I hate David Copperfield!" but guess what, they blow the shit out of things just fine.
