Nothin special. Friend of mine was having a really bad day yesterday so I whipped up this quicky doodle for her. Could've done better quality-wise, but eh. Wanted to get it done fast. |

I really should've tried harder initially. The jagged edges and the left arm (stage left) bothers the crap out of me. |

Hey, I haven't even tried making animations with anything other than sprites. For a first shot, that came out really smoothly done. Usually people make the mistake of not adding enough frames or making it go too fast. Yours avoided both those issues.
Question for the Sqweeb. Is that like, Halloween Santa? The lower quality makes it seem even foggier somehow. Just say it was intentional, yeahhh.

Self portrait:
Edit: Fixed something a bit. I'm pretty satisfied with it, and it has stopped my art-for-the-sake-of-art itch (as opposed to the draw-something-awesome itch which is most of my coloured work and bear pictures.) Reference picture: Edit: The more I look at this drawing, the more I'm dissatisfied and want to go back and meticulously fix all the mistakes...The jaw needs to be thinner and have a less gradual slope somewhat, the head still needs to be tilted more...Can't fix that unless I want to rotate it digitally a bit, one of the eyes is a little off (the eyebrow), and they eyes are kinda looking the wrong way. And the lips still bug the crap out of me. I suck at lips. Last edited by TDK; 11-03-2008 at 10:05 PM. |

Aw jeah! Rockin' portrait, dude. Reminds me of Andrew WK. Alls you need is blood pouring out of your nose and you're set! :p
Nicely done though, really. As said before, you're constantly improving. I'm kinda jealous, actually. :p

Your sketches are really improving, especially with reference material. Keep it up!

Meanwhile mine are degrading into many degrees of madness and depravity.
The autograph is so it'll sell for tons of money one day, after I'm dead. Yes, yaplet is to blame. Onions burn because they hate you.

Maybe try stretching them out a bit? It looks like one of those porcelain doll mouths (or a child's, take your pick). I've noticed that a lot of people have fairly wide mouths, most reaching to about the middle of the eyes.
Then again her mouth may be that size? I donno, it just seems kinda smooshed in with her nose. Otherwise not bad, I really like the nose and eyes.
