Yeah, how could that happen....

I did like this one though, I usually enjoy the interplay between Black Mage and White Mage, though the characters seemed a little off to me, I could definetely see BM try something like this.....Bare with me a few minutes for my Birthday...lol

Note the punnish play on the word 'bare'. "Bare with me for a few minutes on my B-Day." Note that the word used is 'bare', and not 'bear'.

Ah, yes, there it is. The comedy.

Plus, there is the comedy in thinking what WM will do to him when she turns around.

Furthermore, I'm sure Brian has made jokes similar in style to this one... kinda obscure, hard to see at first, but pure comedy gold once you do see it.

EDIT: Even MORE furthermore, This may be a build up. Put the funny, yet limited comics up first. Slowly build up in complexity and sheer goodness, and BOOM! Saturday = godly comic of greatness. Or, it could be a cruel anti-climax on Saturday, with an absolute peice of shit being posted, which then turns the whole guest week into one huge joke on us.

I wouldn't put that past Brian.

To clear up some confusion: all the guest comics were chosen by me, "Killer B" Clevinger, last Friday/Saturday and posted ahead of time using my advanced understanding of temporal physics. Sosa had nuthin' to do with nuthin', and that's why it all works right (zing!)

On to other topics:

Why do I get the impression that Fenris is going to hate every guest comic posted that isn't his (that will be seven comics)?

People need to calm down about Personman's submission. There's a whole school of art based on the idea of Ugly On Purpose. It's more interesting than Ugly By Incompetence and that's why it got posted.

The Bravest of Fencers seems to have a pretty good idea of what's goin on. But which version will be realized... I dare not say!

BraveFencer: I found the pre-edit portion of your post to be a bit incoherent... also i think everyone picked up on the 'bare' thing. And Brian, I am afraid that your little attempt to mystify us has failed. Fenris seems to have a rather limited scope for humor. The two guest comics so far have both very effective, yet different forms of comedy. They just fall outside his self-defined veiws of what is funny.

And, the thing is, Brian has done both of these himself. I don't really feel like searching through the archives for an example of the thing used in guest comic #2, but as for guest comic #1, the intentionally shitty comic, I present to you....

THE FIGHTER DOES NOT LIEK THE ROBOT!

And of course I have a good idea of what's going on. I am actually living one week in the future. I just decided to give two options to these poor su--- I mean, loyal readers of yours, so as not to spoil anything.

And I'll just say this now: shame on you Brian, for not choosing my guest comic.

So i just read lokisfenrisgothymcangst's comic. The way he was talking it up I was expecting some great work of sprite art comparable to Leonardo or Escher, instead I read what has to be the unfunniest piece of garbage the internet has ever played host to. I can't beleive it took you and ten other people to make something so incredibly boring and uninspired. Usually I accept that some people aren't funny and just walk away but your constant slandering of things that ARE funny has opened you up to this. Your abortion of a comic is the worst thing I have ever seen. Grow some talent before you critisize anyone else.

Today's comic is alright. I laughed. The art was better than anythignI could do so I liked that. Not really much esle to say. Personman's comic still beats it.

1) That's because that post was more like 6 or 7 edits, all of which added something but didn't change the rest. Hence the sorta obfuscated meanings... yes.

2)As for the 'bare' issue, I really don't think that lokisfenris got it. Then again, all sorts of humor seems to be slipping him by.

Anyway, on the second guest comic; Decent ENOUGH art, but could have used some major cleaning up in photoshop. I belive you have an option while scanning to make the black lines blacker, and the white space whiter (so as to avoid unseemly smudge and what-not, I say). I didn't find the punchline-spread-over-more-than-half-the-comic to be terribly funny. I got the joke, and pulled off right, it could've been at least slightly humorous. But the punch came too slow for me, and it wasn't obvious enough...

I would've found it funny had it been done something like this... but this is just my preferance. Not like I'm trying to show anyone up or anything...

How I might've done it:

Frame 1: *see comic

Frame 2:
BM-"Come on, please? It's my birthday, and I just want to try an expirament"
WM-"*sigh* fine, just make this quick..."

Frame 3:
BM- "Ok, Great! Just turn around while I get ready...
WM- "Wait... what? What for? This isn't going to be something weird is it?
BM- "No it isn't weird... I just need you to bare with me for a few minutes...

Frame 4: (Bm getting nakers)
BM- "Ok, I'm ready... but the hat stays on... Now it's your turn!

WM (Either still looking away irritated, or looking at BM and disg-a-horrified (That's disgusting + horrified :fighter: )
