Yeah it would be neat if you could bring these kinds of meta-commentary issues into the movies but a lot of that thing just doesn't work for the medium because the characters themselves haven't been established in that context. A lot of Bradley just doesn't work if you don't have the pre-existing character of Steve Rogers to work from.

I mean honestly whatever ends up happening with the Watchmen movie the only reason it has even a chance of working is because it's coming out now as opposed to eight or ten or fifteen years ago; you could never even conceivably do a movie that's pretty much an extended metatextual commentary on the nature of superheroing had Hollywood not spent the last ten years entrenching superheroes in the cinematic medium.
