I'm pretty sure it was Jecht. I gave him the Jecht Shot because it made sense, not Tidus. I don't have the save file to back this up.

It had something to do with a random lottery, similar to getting Wakka's ultimate. He showed up and I picked him up. I never liked Wakka, unlike the rest of the FF world. Maybe it has something to do with completing the game first or it was something to do with a limited edition. I don't remember because it's been 7 years since I played the game. But I remember Jecht having armor similar to Auron, wearing gloves, black hair that seemed curlyish and red as a main theme.

I am also aware there's a Jecht Shot 3 which did massive damage to defenders. I know I played 24 hours worth of Blitzball when I got the game. Maybe I'm remembering getting the JS3 shot, and gave it to Tidus but I'm pretty sure Jecht was a free agent that I employed. Either way, *shrug* I can't keep up with something that I can't find so I'm digressing.

I would describe my hatred of the FFIX card game, except that it would inevitably lead to bloody vomit and acid tears on my part.

Suffice it to say that when I found out I had to be good at it, I laughed maniacally for like an hour.

Practically the entire nation is dead. Auron is dead but went to grab Tidus in the past. Seymore wanted to become Sin and destroy the world.

I have the official walkthrough for FFX and I can 100% confirm without the slightest doubt that neither Jecht nor the Jecht shot 3 exist for Blitzball. The guide lists everything you can unlock and lists every single move. The highest numbered Jecht shot is 2, which knocks away 3 defenders, adds 10 to shot and goes invisible.

Jecht does not appear for recruiting. And seeing as you can only recruit people by actually walking up to them and pressing square you would NEVER be able to recruit Jecht, because he only appears right at then end, at a point where you can't go back to the airship and you can't get close enough to him before the cutscene starts.

So there.

Well, I kind of agree on the no go on the Jecht shot. You probably just mistook them for different people and attacks.
