They actually are supposedly going to do The Dark Tower one of these days, if J.J. Abrams ever quits making Star Trek movies...he directed that one, right?
Something like it would be cool, though, even if it was just a western with werewolves or something. The closest they've come to that seems to be Tremors 4, which was unbearable.

Abrams dropped out... That killed all my hopes of it turning out right. If Fox ever gets around to making Cowboy Bebop (ugh) they'll have a hard time with handeling the tone and which genre to focus on and they'll almost certainly not synch up any gunfights with the music or anything cool.
And what the hell happened to the Preacher adaptation? That comic was a prime example on how to splice genres. I've digressed.... |

I'm pretty sure the question of there being anything possibly good that could have come out of Cowboy Bebop the Live-Action film started with Keanu Reeves and ended with it being a live-action take on a beloved Japanese anime by FOX and the resounding answer was "NO", echoing throughout the universe.

Bebop movie could be done, but only if they got an excellent director that understood what made it great. I do not think there is a director in hollywood that qualifies.
anywho, what I really want to see is some more original stuff. Clash of the Titans is not only a remake, but the original itself was even based on something. I refuse to believe there just aren't any new ideas anymore. If I can come up with stuff proffesional writers should be able to

The problem with originality is that we've got such a volume of work now that anything you do is going to have some kind of similarity to something someone else did. People are going to make comparisons between what ever you do and another person's work even if the comparisons are unwarranted. This doesn't excuse the laziness of Hollywood but it does mean if you're looking for something truly original anywhere its not really going to happen. At best you're going to get something that seems original to you.

That's been true since Shakespeare's day, though. What makes a work original is how you combine the various elements together. There's no way to create an original element at this point (or very very rarely), but if you combine together different plot elements together in a novel way and combine it with good characterization and so forth people usually appreciate it as "original".
Like we've had movies about vampires. And quite frankly we've had movies about vampire blood banks, there was one in Blade. So this movie is not very original. If someone wants to make an original vampire movie, they would do something interesting, like making a movie where vampires fight in nightmare mechs that are fueled by blood. I'd buy that for a dollar!

I am not saying something with no referance to anything. Forget shakespear that hasn't ever happened. You cant just pull something from nothing, even Dracula had several source materials.
What I want is something that isn't a copy. Movies are all based on books, games, or even flat out remakes of old movies. They are making movies based on Monopoly and Battleship. Cant we have something that isn't a sure thing for once. Thats the whole reason I'm willing to put up with watching movies I already know the entire plot of before seeing the first trailer

The problem with a lot of original ideas is that they tend to be rather stupid.

original ideas that they come up with now, or you mean ever. Because otherwise you are saying movies like original Matrix, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, are stupid

Making it happen.

And just because of that, Arnie would be the star.
