Since there was some interest in that game I'll flesh out my idea once I get home from work. I've got notes somewhere I'll edit it into this post.
Before I edit in my idea: Quote:
Okay, now for Daredevil: The Trials of Matt Murdock Key features of this game: If the game were to be made consequences would be one of the most important features, making mention of a location where evidence might be found in court could result in it being blocked off and guarded. Hurting too many people while on patrol for a case could raise suspicions on just how you found that Gun with the Plantiff's fingerprints. As a result of the sheer replay ability that would be planned, it would be quite short, after a half-hour training case there would be probably three other cases to solve. For the sake of simplicity each case would be for a hero the the Marvel Public knows the identity of, ex: Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man. Each case will tie into each other forming an overall plot but remaining episodic. The Trial would resolve in a manner similar (okay stolen) from Phoenix Wright: The Three Day Trial. Each case would be presented thusly: --Hero comes to Matt looking for Defense (or in the case of Iron Man a representative.) o This would serve as an opportunity to find out what the Defendant knows in preparation for the Trial. ----The First Night o The Night is when you spend your time beating up bad guys, convincing witnesses to testify and gathering evidence. Like all the phases of game play this would have a generous time limit but there would be enough plot threads to follow up on that it should be reasonable for a player to get a "Not Guilty" verdict. However to fully find out what links all three cases would require quick reflexes and a steel sharpened wit. To aide the player is Matt Murdock's senses which will alert you if a character is lying to you, or it may reveal secrete rooms where evidence is hidden. Each Night has enough options so that every case will be different enough to keep interest through multiple playthroughs ----Trial Day One o This is my opportunity to go into the dialog mechanic it would be run with a system that would be a reasonable cross between Phoenix Wright's evidence presentation system and Mass Effect's quick dialog choices. One of the Main Features is again tied to Murdock's heightened senses, his ability to hear heartbeats, detect lies, and read intentions presents the player with two meters The Jury Meter and the Judge Meter. The Judge likes facts and figures most times. He likes things to go according to plan and likes his trials to be as boring as possible. The Jury likes sensationalism, they crave the controversy and dramatic moments. The goal is to keep these opposing views well balance because it doesn't matter if the Jury believes if your found in contempt. ---Night 2 Is a repeat of Night 1, but things are tougher now, Daredevil is on the trail and opponents get more interesting, if you have tipped you hand to the Kingpin or any of Daredevil's Rouges Gallery then they will in all likelihood put in an appearance For all but the most savvy players this will end in a Boss Fight. Trial 2 Like trial 1 but again this time things are tougher, lawyers bring stronger cases, if you were sensationalist beforehand the Judge will have had enough of your circus court proceedings and be harder on you. If you were by the book then the Jury has already written you off and is less likely to listen to you. This cycle is again repeated for the third time, ending in one of several endings. Ending 1: Guilty! You have lost the trial and must either restart at a save point or keep moving and find the [Truth!] that will set him free by the end of the game. Remember, all the cases are interconnected so it is possible to free one character during a different trial. Ending 2: Not Guilty: You progress to the next part of the game with more knowledge than you had before about who is trying to put heroes behind bars. Ending 3: Hung Jury: The Defendant is off the hook but the next trial will be harder because you have no fore-knowledge on what will happen next.
