It's so annoying when you say coke to a waiter

Actually, coke and pepsi taste very different, and I'm annoyed by people who think that just because they think coke is the word for all soft drinks, that when people misudnerstand that they actually want Coca-Cola, and are only doing their job, they get mad over such an insignificant thing even though the other person was only being helpful, and now acts like a jerk to this person because they don't think the same way about that as you do.

It's pop around here (Utah). Had to think about it for awhile, but then I remember my family always says "go get a bottle of pop from the basement" not "go get a bottle of soda from the basement".

Here in Texas, it's coke. If you want a coke, it usually means a Dr. Pepper, not a coke. It doesn't even seems silly to me after all this time.

In nearly all of Canada, it is known as Pop. There's Unanimity for you.
But go into any restaurant, and they will have it listed as "Soft Drinks."
