Archer and Armstrong vs. the World

LOST's main problem is filler and subplots which end up going nowhere. I remember that it was in the second (third? I'll probably never remember) season, in one of the final episodes they had Michael kill off two other characters who had had a bunch of personality build-up and hinted subplots (the one chick had been with Hurley in the insane asylum, shown in a flashback, but beyond that it was never again pursued because they killed her character off two episodes later) which ended up going nowhere. I assumed it was because the actors wanted to leave the show, but they keep bringing some of them back in flashbacks in random episodes, including some extremely side character kidnapper guy. It must cost a crapton to pay these people to come and do cameos in random episodes, or else these scenes were filmed prior to the actors leaving, OR we're supposed to believe these characters serve some purpose at some later point, despite being dead as doornails.
Oh, and the overall plot doesn't make much sense due to the increasing amount of hanging subplots, plus when it immediately contradicts itself (Ben: "If I do this I can never come back to the Island." Ben in the next episode: "Come with me back to the Island!") Plus put up arguments for its actual ability to entertain and not bore people to death and LOST is pretty much screwed over. It was an "entertaining" experiment in 24-episode seasons that went horribly awry fairly quickly. I mean, seriously, 24 episodes in one season? You're just asking for ridiculous filler and subplots which meander annoyingly in circles. Glad to see they're "fixing" that in these last two seasons but I got about halfway through season 5 and just couldn't watch any more of it. I have a hard time believing people watch this show with a week break in between each episode, that would be even more impossible. EDIT: To be mildly related to the actual topic of the thread, besides the stupid name for this upcoming series, which will be rendered ridiculous in only three seasons IF they start right now, I think the idea of people having to survive in the post-apocalypse is fine and all but one the one hand this particular post-apocalypse has already been done (Waterworld), and on the other hand it seems only really really tangentially related to LOST in that they have to survive on what is now an island by living off the land. There's not going to be wacky time-travel plots or anything. If anything, it could just as aptly be related to Castaway, Robinson Crusoe, or the aforementioned Waterworld. Relating it to LOST just seems like Emmerich's way of drumming off fan fervor where it shouldn't even exist, really. By the way, why is the Cape of Good Hope the highest point now? Does Mt. Everest get flattened in the 2012 movie? K2? All the other Himalayas? The Rocky Mountains? The alps? I have a hard time believing that the Cape of Good Hope is higher above sea level than all these major mountain chains, but I guess I should look it up on the Internet...

Ben lies. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that a better example would have been helped your point a lot more.

Without ever having seen Lost I will guarantee that it is at least as deep as Entourage.

Okay but to put it more succinctly, LOST isn't even in the same ball park, league, hell it's not even in the same UNIVERSE as shows like The Wire and Deadwood.
