that death jr game does look kinda iffy and i wouldnt of even said any thing about the launch games if patricoo hadnt said any thing but he did and i say this. if red faction was a launch game than i would totally buy a psp but if it was mostly kingdom hearts type games than forget it. and for the record im not denying that kingdom hearts was popular but i personally find it one of the top ten most retarded games ever. (BOY AM I GETIN FLAMED FOR THAT ONE) I mean mickey mouse and donald duck!! what the hell is that. any way the psp graphics look really good no matter what game it is. but if its gonna be so much $$$ than i wount care what games are on it.

DID YOU ACTUALLY PLAY THE GAME!! God, that game was fun as hell. If your too damn cool to play a game that has Goofy then you suck.
*sighs* must...not...flame...in...this...forum... must...not...flame...in...this...forum... *counts to 10* Okay, actually it's clear that you like shooters and more 'violent' ones. Fine. Whatever. I think thats dumb but anyways, a nice little action/adventure/platformer or whatever it is that doesn't look too kiddish and is a brand new series is a great way to attract people of all ages. Obviously this won't be thier ONLY game, and they WILL have shooters and other games, but it's best for the first screen shots. Had they put another sequal up there, I definatly would have thought "Screw this, it's just another way to re-sell games." and it eventually could be. We'll wait until there is much more.

One of my problems with GBA SP is that, in all fairness to it, that while it does have some new games alot of its really good selling games have just been SNES ports.

Well, at this point Death Jr. is little more than a glorified tech demo. The game at this point doesn't interest me, but it does give a glimpse of what the PSP can do. It was appearently knocked together very quickly. By this I'd say the PSP is roughly at the same level as the Dreamcast, which is what the specs suggested. Of course the real test will be how it looks on the small screen of an actual PSP, but so far it's shaping up nicely. Certainly the small screen will hide such sins as low resolution textures.
By the by, the sceen of the PSP is supposed to be 4.5" with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It will push 480x272 pixels. |

$200-250 still seems a bit steep to me. You could get 2 Gamecubes for that much.

The thing that I found funny is, unless I'm blind, when he was fighitng that giant, white cat thing...well, it seemed like an unfinished model, cleverly being hidden by master(?) camera-work.
480x272...pretty nice.

Some more random news: Havok is porting their physics engine to the PSP. The Havok physics engine was used in Max Payne 2 among other games. Oh, and the PSP has hardware support for tessellation, though it wasn't used in Death Jr. due to how rushed it was in order to be ready in time for the GDC.
