Well, since we don't have a DM yet, we don't really know what's going on with levels, houserules, books allowed, etc. Possibly what we do first session is just work everything like that out and do some initial RP, and then everyone rolls characters up and gets them approved before the next session.

Bollocks! You can skip University classes once a week!
I did, at least! Have my degree and everything! RE: Gobi What Argent said. First sessions will just be to get the groundworks of the game set up. All rolls will be done in the actual session. I'll check out Maptools in the meantime and see if it's along the lines of what I'm thinking. Anyone who thinks they can DM, come up with some ideas you'd like us to play. We'll pick on Thursday, if there's multiples wanting to DM or different scenarios. All I know is that I call Halfling/Rogue-or-Ranger

I played around a little bit with Maptool, and I'm not sure how it will do. Is it simple enough for all of us to get into the same room?
I also didn't see an application for dice to be rolled within Maptool. I launched the Dicetool, but it opened seperately, which opens up for fudging rolls and it seemed a little unwieldy for things like rolling stats. Just posting my initial concerns, only spent around ten minutes on it. Basically to give Argent a chance to show me how things work, how to get them to work, or if they can do what we're looking for.

Well, it does have a dice mechanic, but if its really nessescary we can use www.Invisiblecastle.com for our dice rolls if we want a alternative medium.
The only problem is, we will be needing a different method of making maps as well. |

Absolutely. Even after the game starts, I think we'd be willing to add characters in progress!
I'm currently working out how to get things started in mIRC, so we could have the first meeting in there or in Maptool. We'll figure it out by tomorrow.

EDIT: Nevermind, can't make the time, and somehow I completely glazed over the part where RPTools was already linked. @_@;
