I figured out where my materials got all fucked up, it turns out that in transferring everything from the old file to a new one (which I had to do to clear out the rendering errors I was getting) the program decided to reset all my metals as non-metals. I ran a couple new exteriors but nothing I'm really happy with and then an interior which looks pretty nice (if a bit excessively reflective). That was actually still running when I left for work this morning (after starting it at like 1 last night). I'll see if I can do an exterior with some decent-looking lighting effects or something.

So, new renders!
shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny. Tried taking the exterior textures out altogther... a little flatter than I hoped, would've liked something more like how the interior came out. Next I'm either gonna try switching the sunlight off and doing positioned lighting, or try and do something with bumpmapping. I think I overcorrected the headlight transparency on this one; there may be nothing for it but to fill actual fixtures in there.

From the left, the second oval window is at a weird angle.

Looking good. Still forced to point out the lack of guns.

See the thing here I think is the body has an outward curve (you can see this better from the interior) which with the slant to the windows and the curve on the doors ends up working at cross purposes when you look at it in perspective. I think if I were doing it again I'd do either the curved walls or the slanted windows but both together kinda clashes (although it did make for an interesting design challenge).
